Another Petite Friendly Brand: Eight Sixty in XS

Here is another brand I found at Nordstrom Rack called Eight Sixty that is actually very petite friendly. At first- I thought it was a Junior’s brand but it turns out to be a women’s brand. Never heard of it before but I ran across this dress and decided to try it on and loved it!!!

The bottom half is 100% silk and the exposed zipper in the back is what sold me. Had it been faux silk- I definitely would have passed even though the XS fits so nicely. These types of dresses which is really popular in the Junior’s department, I tend to shy away from only because it’s a little too teeny-bopper for me. But what I liked about this particular dress is the fact that it really looks like a true 2-piece and not too “kiddish”.

Dress: Eight Sixty Dress- size XS (similer HERE and HERE)
Bolero: Aqua girls cashmere shrug- girls Large (similar HERE)
Shoes: Aldo pumps- size 5 (similar HERE and HERE)
Ring: Custom Pink Gemstone Right Hand 14K gold ring- size 3 (similar HERE)

Clearly my favorite color is pink and this ring had to be custom made from scratch for my small fingers! I am size 3 finger! We petite women have to get clothes tailored and there’s no small rings out there without it having sized or custom made!? What’s up with that?:) This ring is my absolute favorite right hand ring. There are diamonds in all 3 rows and surrounding the beautiful pink oval gemstone.
Here are some other Petite Friendly Eight Sixty Dresses:
1. White eyelet Dress– comes in XS and is sooo pretty for Summer
2. Animal Print Party Dress– this is daring but very cute and comes in XS
3. Floral print 2-fer dress– this is almost identical to the one I am wearing

I am curious to see if their XS skirts will fit petites…?? I’m thinking if the XS dresses fit this small, maybe there is hope for the XS skirts perhaps? Has anyone tried this brand before?

I tend to run really cold at work so I threw on the cashmere shrug to keep me warm in the office. I posted a similar shrug from White House/Black Market in an XXS- see my previous post HERE. I first saw this Aqua (Bloomingdale’s Exclusive) cashmere shrug back on Extra Petite’s post (see HERE) and fell in love with it but they were sold out everywhere and I thought all hope was lost. For some reason, it popped up online one day and I snatched it up so fast. It was fate because it was a girls large and that’s the size Extra Petite had and it fit her perfectly and she looked awesome in it. I like the Aqua shrug much better than the White House/Black Market one because not only because it’s pure cashmere but it sits on the chest much better and it was 1/2 the price- for cashmere too! I couldn’t believe my luck and I got it for dirt cheap- $36! I was more than thrilled! I absolutely love shrugs/bolero’s because I wear dresses all the time and its great as a cover-up! You can also wear it with jeans too. This shrug will definitely be popping up in many of my future posts!
There is a black elastic waist band that makes your waist look super tiny!
I think by pairing pumps with a dress like this makes it a little more “adult” like and it’s work appropriate for casual Friday’s. The dress seems to be made quite well, not like the other two piece dresses that are in the Junior department that falls apart or pills up after 1 wear (or so I hope).
I love the colors pink and navy blue together! And the print on the bottom isn’t too much for me. The silk definitely feels good and the fact that the top fits so nicely and it’s not too low-cut makes it a winner for me. It’s a keeper!
In other news- I finally reached over 100 followers- YAY!!! 🙂 I will be doing my very first giveaway very soon!!!! It’s hard to believe I just started blogging a little over ONE month ago! I’m so excited! I use blogging as a stress reliever from work and honestly did not think it would grow this fast. It makes me feel so good! Thank you everyone:)

  1. I'm so glad / surprised that you found that Aqua shrug…months after it was "sold out" ! I wear it more than any sweater in my closet because it goes so well with dresses. I like the bottom of that dress that you found…reminds me of some brushstroke silk pieces that I've been seeing around, and the colors really suit you.

  2. That's a pretty dress! I don't think it looks too kiddy. I'm so jealous you found that shrug for so cheap! It's totally my style but I missed out :

I know what you mean about rings… I'm a size 3 too (although I could probably size down, but they don't make rings any smaller!). But one good thing about having small fingers is that diamonds/gemstones look bigger on your hand lol. And actually, my half eternity wedding band became almost like a full eternity ring after re-sizing!

  3. You look so great in the dress! You have incredible curves! This dress really accentuates your hourglass petite figure! 🙂

  4. You may be tired of hearing this, but u are such a cutie-patootie! I am very tall, but have NO waist or behind! It's hard to find clothes long enough, but slim enough for my bottom! Your style is awesome! 🙂

  5. You look really pretty in the dress. The colour combo is so nice 🙂

Thanks for following my blog as well. The deep conditioner makes my hair soft and manageable. And what I love about it is that it takes only a small amount to do its job. I used the same amount as I usually do for conditioner and found that to be too much.

  6. the dress is really cute on you! I like the look of these "one-piece" dresses. I have a few that I like to wear in the summers for easy outfits.

That ring is gorgeous! I hear ya about having small fingers. My ring size is 3.5 and my wedding bands are currently being fixed (they are both eternity bands and have several diamonds that are loose – the bad thing about full eternity bands) and I'm trying to find a replacement band just to wear while they are getting fixed but I can't find any ready-made rings in less than a 5 which is way too big. (And even a 4 is rare to find!)

  7. i love eight sixty! they have such great pieces and i agree, it's very petite friendly. i believe metropark carries the brand, too. they have pretty good sales:)
