This Fendi blazer was a recent score at Saks off the 5th.  This is my first designer clothing piece ever and I’m really happy with it. European sizes always confuse and scare me..maybe because I am unfamiliar with them? I was shocked to see that the size 38 fits like a 00 in Theory or a size 2 in H&M.  Not all 38’s are the same though. I tried on a couple other size 38’s in different designer brands and some run big and long.  This may look like a normal blazer but it’s truly gorgeous in real life. The quality is unbelievable and every detail is close to perfect.  When I tried it on, I fell in love instantly. It’s one of those pieces that just makes you feel good.  The rounded collar and silhouette fits me like a glove and I adore the sleeves too.

I know the fishtail skirt trend is not for everyone but I think it’s ultra feminine and when done right, it can be super flattering.  I found this skirt {item #052947} back in March (see previous post HERE) from the H&M trend collection but I believe it could still be available in some stores.  I like the neutral color and the fish tail isn’t so extreme that it makes it impractical to wear.

These were my very first pair of Loubie’s and every pair after that have never fit as nicely or comfortably.  I need to get to a shoe cobbler but am nervous leaving my beloved pumps in someone else’s hands. It’s about time I get them re-soled.

  1. I love that blazer! I live close to Saks Off 5th but I’ve never scored anything like that before. I think the skirt looks cute on u too!

  3. The skirt is actually a pretty classic piece, but you rarely see it these days because it hasn’t been on trend in a long time. You will see it fairly often if you follow couture runway shows, however. The Fendi blazer is such a great score! I wouldn’t have left it behind either.

      • I like this type of skirt, but mainly for nighttime attire. like if you’re gonna go salsa dancing. I find it hard to translate it into office wear.

  5. I love the skirt on you, Annie – is the fabric neoprene? Also your new jacket is beyond gorgeous…so jealous of your designer purchases! 🙂

  6. This is absolutely a standout jacket. It fits (and looks) much better than the usual gear from H&M and Ann Taylor. Once I went the designer clothes route I couldn’t go back. My wardrobe may be smaller but it’s also very high quality; I’ll take one Valentino sweater over a bunch from J. Crew any day.

    • Thanks Anna, like I mentioned to Petra, I was super nervous about the steep price but at least it was on sale:) I agree- quality is much better than quantity. I get easily sucked in with sales at other retailers:)

  8. Hi Annie,
I agree with the comment made by Anna. That blazer looks like a cut above, even in the photos which don’t always paint a true picture. The cut, look and fit look amazing on you and it screams “quality”. As I have commented before, I am also going for the designer pieces and buying fewer things. That said, I bought the fishtail skirt and always feel super sexy and feminine in it. I love it and I think it is very classic. The whole outfit looks great!

    • Thanks Petra! I’m glad you have the fishtail skirt too! It’s my first designer piece and was very nervous about the price tag but you ladies made me feel much better..hehehe

  10. Was this a 38 in Italian sizing? It can be so hard to figure out sizes in different countries – there’s even a difference between Canada and the USA without having to go to the UK/EUR/IT sizes! Lovely jacket, the tailoring is immaculate!

  12. Just vava voom! I hope to be able to dress as elegantly and trendy as you on a daily basis. Sexy and so appropriate, no way is it too trendy! 🙂

  21. The skirt is trendy…but I think you can still wear it for a while. But it totally suits your feminine style, you could pull it off for a few more years 😉

Congrats on the jacket, what a great find! European sizes totally throw me off too. Now that I think of it, I probably missed a lot of good outfits b/c I would pick up a 38 then put it back on the rack right away!

  23. I love this outfit. It is such a classic and I love the detail at the bottom, it adds more girly feel.

  24. I think that skirt, and this whole outfit, is gorgeous! You can’t go wrong with black and white.

    I LOVE the blazer.

  25. If you ever make a trip to San Diego, go to Cinderella Shoe Clinic in La Jolla. I haven’t gotten my Louboutins “resoled”, but I have had them put the vibram soles on a couple new pairs I’ve purchased. They do an amazing job and are one of the few trusted designer shoe repair clinics I know of!
