How to look stylish on a budget

Whenever I get super excited about something, that usually means it’s really good.  This swiss dot bow top and chambray skirt is everything!  You need this outfit in your life.  The best part is…they are both under $50.  Petite friendly (top is nursing friendly too), super comfortable and just plain amazing.

Seriously I adore this top.  I have a thing for tie neck bow blouses and it’s like this top was made for me.  I can see it paired with so many things in my closet.  Wear it under blazers/cardigans for work with the bow peeking out or wear it alone.  My favorite part?  It’s nursing friendly.  I know this doesn’t pertain to all of you gals reading but the mommies that are still nursing, you know what a struggle it is to find cute nursing friendly tops that don’t have weird flaps or snaps. #struggleisreal

Sizing runs true to size and I’m wearing size XXS. You can wear this top as at tunic (long enough to cover your rear) or tuck it in for a professional and business appropriate look. I usually tuck in most of my tops to give it shape and it also helps define my waist. The top is sheer so I’d recommend layering with a pink or white tank/cami.

In case you’re new to the blog, check out this post on what to wear to a summer wedding with the prettiest floral dress I ever did see!  Obviously I have a lot of of love for ModCloth and always have!  If you’re petite, you don’t always have to buy “petite size” clothing.  If you look hard enough, you’ll find a lot of hidden gems that are petite friendly.  I love that they carry a variety of sizes (XXS-4X) and offer such unique and vintage-y items.  Here are some of my favorite pieces (a lot of them I own):

ModCloth Favorites

I recently got this chambray ruffle skirt and this striped ruffle button up (nursing friendly) and am obsessed. Can’t wait to wear both!

I’m posting this photo again to show you the belt that comes with it. You can swap it out and add a pop of color or wear it without – either way looks great.  The length is perfect for petite gals – hits me right at the knees.  I adore the subtle pleats and the shape isn’t too poofy.  It’s fully lined and great quality.  Sizing runs true to size and I’m wearing size XS.  The waist is elastic and has stretch – super comfortable and allows you to eat A LOT (lol).

It goes to show that you can look stylish without breaking the bank. I know these two items will be on heavy rotation. I love them to pieces and would definitely recommend both!
