Ann Taylor petite lace yoke top

Lace yolk top (xxsp) // Banana Republic ankle jeans // J.Crew leopard flats (similar HERE)

Lace yolk top

This was my favorite item that I tried on.  It reminds me of THIS TOP (see review HERE and the outfit post HERE) where it didn’t look like anything special but once you put it on, it’s adorable!  Sizing runs small.  I’m wearing XXSP and it fits very nicely – almost like a tailored fit.  The sleeves are supposed to be 3/4″ but it’s bracelet length on me.  It’s slightly sheer and I happened to be wearing a blush tank but I think you can get away with just a nude bra underneath.  You can tuck this in with a pencil skirt for work or wear it casually with jeans. Would recommend!

Ann Taylor Petite Textured Double Breasted Jacket

Textured double breasted jacket

I was anxious to try this one because I loved how the style is very Jackie-O plus it’s my favorite color.  Sizing runs true to size and I’m wearing 00p. It fits really nicely except the dolman sleeves were a disappointment.  It’s way too wide and makes the jacket look ill fitting.  I wanted to show the fit of the jacket buttoned and un-buttoned so you can see how it lays.  It’s meant to be buttoned and looks way better this way.  The sleeves are an awkward length on me (supposed to be 3/4″). It’s too short to be bracelet length and too long to be 3/4″.  Other than that, it’s very well made and super pretty.  It would look nice with a simple ivory or black pencil skirt for work.

Ann Taylor Petite Georgette Ruffle Blouse

Georgette Ruffle Blouse

Pink and ruffles…this blouse was calling my name.  I love everything about it however the sleeves are too long.  If you have longer arms, this will be such a cute blouse to wear to work.  Sizing runs true to size and I’m wearing XXSP.  The gorgeous dusty orchid color is right on trend for this season’s color.  Would recommend.

Ann Taylor Petite Modern Geo Tie Waist Dress

Modern Geo Tie Waist Dress

I last posted this dress HERE but it wasn’t available in store for me to try on.  They finally got it in and it fits well.  Sizing runs true to size and I’m wearing 00p.  The graphic print isn’t really my thing but it works and the tie waist is very flattering.  The length is good for the work environment and obviously would look way better with these bow pumps.

Ann Taylor Petite Striped Ruffle Neck Blouse

Striped Ruffle Neck Blouse

This is a pretty decent blouse however sizing runs on the larger side – I’m wearing XXSP.  The sleeves are wide and long.  I like the ruffle neck (sorry the photo got cut off).  You can wear this to work or casually on the weekends.

Ann Taylor Mosaic Lace Shift Dress

Mosiac Lace Shift Dress

I don’t think shift dresses are meant for me.  Every time I try one on, it just never looks right.  I prefer a more fitted look.  This does nothing for my figure and there is a lot of extra fabric in the middle.  Sizing runs big – I’m wearing 00P and it has a lot of room.  The length is great for petites – hits right at the knees.  I love the scallop edge hem and sleeves plus rosebud blush color is so pretty.  This dress isn’t for me but could be cute on someone else.

Ann Taylor Petite Tie Neck Ruffle Blouse

Tie Neck Ruffle Blouse

LOL.  I couldn’t believe how ridiculous this blouse was and had to triple check if I grabbed the right size.  Sizing runs extremely generous.  I’m wearing XXSP and as you can see, it’s huge.  The sleeves are beyond long and everything was just poorly executed.  What a disappointment.  I’d recommend sizing down 2-3 sizes.

Kate Ankle Pants

These pants are so unflattering.  I was hoping they would fit because I’m looking for a neutral pair of ankle pants for Fall but these were a total fail.  They make me look even shorter than I already am and the cut is all wrong.  I wish they would have made the inseam a tad longer and tapered the ankles.  Sizing runs on the smaller side and I’m wearing 00P.  I prefer these ponte skinny ankle pants – they make you look super tall and thin.

On another note, hopefully you were able to snag up this amazing petite poncho! that I posted on social media recently (see HERE). I’ll be reviewing it soon!  HERE is another great option if you are into ponchos.  It comes in two colors and currently on sale (see it on me HERE).  It’s SO hard to find ponchos that don’t swallow me up so I’d recommend getting these while you can!

Review: Petite Friendly Ponchos

  1. Hi Annie, thank you for another great review! It’s always so nice to see how items fit on fellow petite ladies! I haven’t seen a couple of these items in person yet so it was a great visual.

I did try on the Mosaic lace sheath dress last month and thought it was pretty but would definitely use a belt to cinch the waist (I’m not a fan of the more straight baggy sheath look either!). I agree though even the Petite 00 is roomy and with a belt at the waist there will be significant fabric gathered in the back. And it is too bad that the tie neck ruffle blouse runs so large! It looks so nice in the photos online 🙁
