Petite Friendly Over The Knee Flat Boots

Why is it so challenging finding a good pair of boots?  Shopping for knee high boots is one thing but shopping for a decent pair of over the knee boots is a whole new level of impossible!  I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of black flat OTK boots and I’m happy to report, I finally found them!

If you’re petite, you know the struggle is real when it comes to boots…especially over the knee boots.  You may be asking yourself, can petite gals pull off OTK boots?  Absolutely!  You wouldn’t think it’s possible since our legs are much shorter than your average woman but I’m telling you, over the knee boots look great on petite gals!  I actually think they can elongate your legs.

I have several pairs of OTK boots but none that are flat or comfortable for all day wear.  I used to shy away from wearing flats because well let’s face it, I need all the help I can get when it comes to appearing taller.  Heels have always been my go-to choice for shoes but now, I’m loving the comfort and versatility of flats.  These Vince Camuto flat boots are simply amazing and I’m thrilled with how they fit.

Most boots tend to fall down throughout the day but these actually stay up!  Sizing runs on the smaller side So I’d recommend sizing up 1/2 a size.  I took my normal size 5 and they fit nicely with socks.  The shaft height is 22.25″ which is exactly where I like my OTK boots to hit.  They are the perfect height for petite gals – not too far up the thigh.  The calf circumference is 14″ and great for ladies with thin or small calves.  They are super easy to slip on and off which is a huge plus.  I adore the corset lace detail and guess what?  The laces actually stay tied!  Woo hoo!

The material is faux suede however the lining is leather and the quality is very nice.  I’ve become obsessed with Vince Camuto ever since I discovered the Franell ankle bootie a couple years ago.  In case you missed it, they brought them back this year!  You can read more about it HERE.

These boots are going to look so cute with skirts and dresses for fall.  I can’t wait to wear it when the weather cools down.  If you don’t own a pair of Vince Camuto shoes, I’ve rounded up my top picks:

  1. I feel like these would be super sweaty and claustrophobic. Do you have recommendations for something more breathable?

  2. you said to size up 1/2 a size but that you took your normal size 5? so don’t size up?

  3. Hey! I don’t know if you will see this but I hope you do, I am planning on purchasing OTK boots but I need to ask a couple of questions, I am 4’7-4’8 and I was wondering if a 23″ shaft will be too long for me? I am about 110-115lbs so I am on the thicker side. Please help. Thank you so much, love your style because it gives me a boost of confidence knowing I am not the only ones who is petite.

    • Hi Kimberly! Yeah I think that 23″ might be too tall for you. 🙁 I’m just under 5′ and 23″ is borderline too tall for me! I think a shorter shaft will alleviate it from swallowing up your petite frame.

  4. Hi! I love your blog and your style. I’m 5’1 and 00, 5.5 shoe and am looking for a pair of OTK boots that aren’t huge on me. The Vince Camuto links are broken..do you have any other recommendations? Thanks so much – your boots are so cute!

  5. Super cute!! Do you know of any cute ones that have a slightly larger heel for petite? I’m 5’1 and 110 lbs. Thanks!
