Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! Finally, the heat wave is over and we have some cooler temperatures in California! Woo hoo! It feels like Fall and I couldn’t wait to wear my Kate Spade x Gap kids navy wool bow coat! The sleeves are very wide and will need to be slimmed but I wore it anyway. It’ll look SO much better once the sleeves are tailored. I purchased a size large (size 10) and XL (size 12) to compare the fit. Here are the measurements:
Size Large: shoulders 13″, armpits 15.5″, sleeves 18″, length 19.5″
Size XL: shoulders 14″, armpits 16″, sleeves 19″, length 20.5″
The large definitely fits better all around but the sleeves hit at an awkward length. The cut is a boxier shape and more of a swing style. After taking these photos, I realized that this jacket would have looked much better with jeans/pants and the size large (shorter length) would have been more proportional with this striped dress. I’m still debating between the two sizes and will have to take side by side photos. I’ll have to figure out if I’m willing to lose sleeve length for a better fit. Nonetheless, I love this jacket to pieces. I like that it’s light weight which is perfect for mild Cali Fall and Winters. Even though it’s a girls/kids coat, the style is classic and adult appropriate. It’s navy and has a bow – what more could I ask for?
