Review: Topshop Bikini, Ann Taylor, Ted Baker

Ann Taylor Floral Jacquard Skirt
Cascade Ruffle Front Top – size XXSP (buy here)

I love the floral print of this skirt but unfortunately it runs large. I’ve noticed that Ann Taylor sizing has changed recently and it’s very disappointing. Has anyone else noticed this? If you like this skirt, I would suggest sizing down. Other than that, it’s a gorgeous piece and would recommend. This top also runs big and the ruffles are a bit too wide down the front.
Ann Taylor Sundot Dress

Necklace: Ily Couture (buy here)

I’ve been wanting this dress and was disappointed when it arrived. It runs big (will try to take a pic soon and update soon).

Ann Taylor Sundot Dress and Statement Pearls
Necklace: Ann Taylor {recommended by Vicky} – (buy here)
Measurements of 00P: shoulders 12″, armpit 16″, waist 14.5″, hips 18″, length 33″

I love the yellow dots and classic silhouette. Don’t let this photo fool you, I have it clipped back several inches. I’m getting really frustrated with their sizing lately. 29″ waist for a 00P? That’s crazy!  I’m debating if it’s worth alterations or not. The fabric is a thinner tweed like material that seems like it would snag easily. I think I would love it if it fit perfectly but I have to factor in tailoring costs. Would recommend but make sure to size down (1-2 sizes) or prepare to pay for alterations.

Ted Baker Mint Pumps

Ted Baker Thaya pumps (left) – size 5 (buy here) +  Mitila pumps (right) – size 5 (buy here)

I mentioned in my previous posts that I’ve been on the hunt for mint pumps. I ordered both of styles of these Ted Baker shoes and both run big. The Mitila (lower heel) pumps run about 1 size larger and the Thaya pumps are run 1/2 size larger. The leather is stiff and has a plastic feel to them. Price point is way too high given the quality. The only thing I liked was the color – perfect mint shade. I would not recommend either one of these.
Kate Spade Mariella Dress and White Pumps
Dress: Kate Spade (see fitting room review)- size 00 (buy here)
Shoes: Ted Baker – size 5 (buy here)
Purse: Kate Spade (buy here)

I’ve regretted returning these white Nine West pumps (see here) over a year ago and have needed to fill this void. They ran small and fit me perfectly and I can’t remember why I would return them. These white pumps above are the same ones as the Ted Baker mint version and fit a tiny bit better. I’m not loving the quality so will be returning. My search for white pumps continues!

BP Mallory Ankle Strap pumps

BP Mallory Ankle Strap pumps – size 5 (buy here)

These are super cute and have the perfect heel height but are too big for me. I’d say they run TTS so it’s safe to order your normal size.
Topshop Scalloped Navy Bikini
Topshop Scalloped bikini top + bottom (buy top here, bottom here)
Hat: Forever 21 {old} (similar here)
Shoes: J.Crew {old}
Purse: Kate Spade (similar)

I’ve always loved this white scalloped bikini but it’s so darn expensive. When I saw this navy one from Topshop, I was super excited! The top runs extremely small and I had to size up to a 6 (US 2-4). There’s no padding but does give some lift. It also comes with a tie that goes around the neck for more support. The bottoms I kept in a size 2 (US 0). It’s so adorable and would highly recommend.
Topshop Peony Bikini
Topshop peony bikini top + bikini bottom (buy top here, bottom here)
Hat: J.Crew (similar for $14.99)
Sandals: Ann Taylor (similar here and here)
This peony print bikini is super cute but I’m debating if I should keep it since I already have the scalloped one. The top runs small as well so size up. The bottoms in a size 2 (US 0) fit me nicely. Would recommend.

  1. You’ve put together some very nice outfits here, Annie. I love that ruffled blouse from the first outfit. Not sure which swimsuit outfit I like more. I certainly love the wedge-like sandals of the second swimsuit outfit.

  2. I recently bought the black ones from the ASOS Spring Break collection after seeing Laura from buy now/blog later raving about them, and although they took a bit to break in for me, I love them now, they’re so comfortable. I’ve already ordered the orange version to try, and just saw that they have a mint and white version now. Not leather, but also not at all expensive. πŸ™‚

  3. Did you try the kate spade licorice pumps in mint? I put them on my blog recently- they’re a gorgeous mint shade, found them at nordstrom rack…

  4. The yellow polka dot dress is so gorgeous but so sad (for you) that it runs big! I may have to try on 00P for size then and I love how you paired it with the mint shoes. I adore both bikinis. Do you really have to choose? πŸ˜‰

      • Let’s put it this way… when was the last time you visited your tailor? I’ll keep you posted if I get to try this one on. Thanks for the lovely recommendations.
