I love the color navy and it’s been my new “black” for awhile now. When I saw this dress, I had to bring it home. H&M has a tendency to bring back the same styles with a few minor tweaks year after year and I am so glad they brought this style back.

Last year, they had a gorgeous chartreuse color but the back pleat was very strange. Something about it just didn’t look right to me – especially when belted. See the chartreuse on me here and on Jean here. It just didn’t look right and I’m so glad they made some revisions this year to the navy. They made the sleeves longer and slimmer, removed the back pleat completely and shortened the dress slightly. I love the pleat detail and simplicity of this dress.
The dress fits very boxy and wide with no shape so I slimmed it on both sides. Luckily it’s unlined so it didn’t take me very long to do. The fit isn’t perfect yet – there’s still a tiny bit of bunching in the back when belted but I’ll have to fix that at a later time. I prefer wearing this dress belted to give it a bit of shape.
Navy is so much more versatile than the chartreuse. I can see this dress being worn and loved a lot. I’ll probably layer this with a collared shirt or blazer for work. If you want to look for this dress, it’s from the “Trend Collection” and not all H&M stores carry this line so be sure to call and ask first.
I also picked up this pink ruffle top {style #081522, $24.95}. I definitely had ruffle goggles on and came home to realize that this is made out of viscose (very wrinkle prone). I still love it so will be keeping. FYI – it runs on the narrow side.
I’ve been looking everywhere for this white full skirt {style #099296, $49.95) but no luck in a size 2.
I tried on this pretty print dress that I was eying but decided to pass. Now I’m second guessing it and may go back for a second look.
Have you found anything you like at H&M lately?
I love the ruffle top and the print dress. They soothe you well=)
Thanks Pa! Love me some ruffles 🙂
First of all, the navy blue shift dress is very classy and chic. I very much adore the ruffled top to compliment the stylish jeans and boots. The white skirt is very cute and stylish. Finally, the print dress is nice, though I am not too keen on the pattern itself. These are some otherwise very nice pieces you’ve put together here.

Thanks Chrissie! I’ll prob go back and check it out again 🙂
Hey Annie! I noticed that you have a thumbnail of Elle magazine in your sidebar. Can you tell us a little bit more about that? Will you be writing a full post on being featured?
Hi Thuy! It was just an article on petite fashion in Elle’s magazine in Finland 🙂
That’s still really impressive! Do you have a copy of the magazine? Will you scan the pages or at least show the enlarged version?
I love the navy sheath dress on you! Caught myself oogling your cabochon bracelet too. 🙂
The mall I was at today didn’t have an H&M but I look forward to scoping out the white skirt (and will let you know if I find a sz 2).
Be careful washing the viscose ruffle top. From my experience it tends to shrink a bit after you wash it.
Thanks for the advice on the viscose top..I wish it was a diff material. Gah.
Thanks for looking for my skirt…I hope I find it. It’s so cute!
love how you styled the dress!

Hello! I could have sworn I’ve been to this website before but after browsing through some
of the post I realized it’s new to me. Anyways, I’m definitely happy I found it and I’ll be book-marking and checking back often!
You really make it appear really easy together with your presentation but I find this topic to be
really something which I think I might never understand.
It kind of feels too complicated and extremely huge for me.
I’m looking forward on your subsequent put up, I’ll try to get
the grasp of it!
Currently it sounds like BlogEngine is the top blogging platform available right now.
