Top: BR factory {style #907209-00-1-0009} – size XXSP (similar here or here)
Skirt: Ann Taylor wool mini– size 00P (buy here)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin – size 35 (buy here)
Measurements: Waist laying flat = 12.5″, Hips = 15.5″ Total length = 16″ (online it states 17″ for petite sizes)
Size/Fit: The waist is a bit (1/2″) loose but doable. As a reference I’m 5′ tall, 92 lbs. ( 32 x 23.5 x 32)
Material: 65% wool, 32% polyester and 3% spandex. (online it states 67% wool, 31% poly and 2% spandex) Fully lined with hidden side zipper and hook-and-eye closure.
Color: Chili Pepper Red. This is much brighter in person than it is online. I wanted a more bold red that I could wear also wear in the Spring/Summer. I can see this paired with a neutral blouse for the upcoming Holiday parties and dinners.
Price: $98. At full price, definitely not worth it but I got it during the 50% sale plus I had a $25 rewards card. $49 – $25 = $24
Likes: I love the bold color and have nothing like this in my wardrobe. My other red thrifted skirt is a longer length and thicker wool and is much more conservative. I wanted something shorter that I could wear on date night and on the weekends. I am happy with the overall fit. I am relieved that it’s a straight cut and not a-line. A straight cut is much more flattering on petites.
Dislikes: The material felt more like the cobalt blue ponte skirt than a wool blend. The mini length and bold color probably will not work for a conservative corporate environment but it all depends on where you work. I prefer a back zipper to a side zipper only for alteration purposes but luckily I can get away with the waist on this one. Most of my Ann Taylor pencil skirts always need the sides to be slimmed and the waist taken in but the mini’s have proven to work out with no alterations.
Verdict: Keeping and would recommend if you are looking for a fun, bold red mini skirt.
Anyone else pick up this skirt?
Love the outfit & the shoes!!!! <3

Yes, the skirt is definitely fun and bold. I think it looks nice with the nude heels. You should keep it. You can do a lot with the skirt.

I've been loving this too but I didn't have a rewards card. 🙁
It looks awesome on you! Now I must look away before I take out my credit card!
You look amazing in that outfit! I need some nude pumps like yours. I'm new to the petite blogging world and love your site! =)
Love the color of the skirt…so pretty!
Love the color! And I love those shoes. Fun! Anyway, this is off topic, but your hair looks very soft. What shampoo do you use?
Tara and I both have the red skirt from Loft that had the kick pleat down the front…and it is in a similar shade to the skirt you are wearing, atleast in pictures. If I could go back, I'd probably have passed because the tomato red is more difficult to style in my opinion versus a cherry red. I do like what you did here, and for the price I think it is worth the money.
I knew without even seeing this skirt that I would love it on you (I mean, come on, chili pepper red wool mini skirt? That even sounds beautiful!) The color and length look perfect!
I love the skirt! It's such a gorgeous pop of color. I also love the name. It goes with the skirt very well.
hehehe cute name huh? I love chili peppers! lol
Hahaha Thanks SPG! I love the color and length too! Perfect for date night!
After looking at the post, the color appears brighter in real life but brighter than what AT has online. I don't think it's as orange-y as your LOFT one 🙂
Really? My hair looks soft? OMG it's like a hot mess in this post! lol
I use Infusium shampoo and conditioner and sometimes if it's super dry, I spray leave in conditioner too 🙂
Thanks Tara!
Hi Karen! Thank you! Are you in the market for some Loubies? I need to sell mine (pair I am wearing). They are slightly too big and I need a 34.5. Let me know if you are interested 🙂
Hahahaha Oh Elle! I can see you looking amazing in this! I say get it! lol
Awe thanks Jordan. I have a feeling this skirt will be well loved!
I'm def keeping it…it's exactly what I was looking for 🙂
Thanks so much 😀

Very cute, I love the colour. Did you hem this at all? If you didn't I can't even imagine how short it would be on me 😛
haha I would be if you were my size! I have bigger feet…probably 36 or even a 37 would fit me. Thanks for the offer though!
Love the combination of this outfit, i would never think to pair something like this up for work but you have definitely given me inspiration to!
I didn't hem it Elaine. Anyone taller than me – it may be too short 🙂
Thanks Anita! 🙂
Np! 🙂
I adore this skirt. Looks lovely on you. The color is so rich. Great find, Annie.
I adore your skirt! I love the red color! It looks very nice with your pumps!
Please check out my first post too! http://luvleevy90.blogspot.com/ Thanks!
I believe what you published made a ton of sense. But, what about this?
what if you wrote a catchier post title? I ain’t saying your content is not solid, but suppose you added a
post title that grabbed folk’s attention? I mean Review: Ann
Taylor Chili Pepper Red Wool Mini Skirt | Stylish Petite is kinda vanilla.
You could glance at Yahoo’s home page and see how they write article
headlines to grab people to open the links.
You might add a video or a pic or two to grab readers interested about
what you’ve written. In my opinion, it would bring your
blog a little livelier.
Hi there, i read your blog from time to time and i own a
similar one and i was just curious if you get a lot of spam feedback?
If so how do you stop it, any plugin or anything you
can recommend? I get so much lately it’s driving me insane so
any help is very much appreciated.

Good day I am so glad I found your website, I really found you by mistake,
while I was looking on Askjeeve for something else, Anyhow I am here now and
would just like to say cheers for a fantastic post and
a all round enjoyable blog (I also love the theme/design), I don’t have time to read it all at
the minute but I have bookmarked it and also added your RSS feeds, so when I have time
I will be back to read a great deal more, Please
do keep up the awesome job.
Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally,
it seems as though you relied on the video to make your
point. You obviously know what youre talking about, why throw
away your intelligence on just posting videos to your
site when you could be giving us something informative to read?
