Here is my review on French Connection:
Price point: Higher than expected but I was hoping that the quality would match the price. Dresses run from $100+. Haven’t checked out any other pieces or price points but I am asssuming it’s in the higher end.

Quality: So far so good- I checked out the details of the stitching and quality of the fabric and it seems to be of high quality. I was relieved given the price point. You have to pay a premium for quality which I am more than happy to do as long as it fits and is made well.

Cut of Dress: Surprisingly petite friendly even though it’s not a petite line. For someone similar measurements as me- a size 0 would fit perfectly. And I think even if you are a bit smaller than me- a size 0 would still work with maybe some small adjustments. The bust, waist and length all fit me properly with no adjustments. The only thing I would consider changing is MAYBE shortening the straps just so I don’t show too much cleavage if I want to wear it to work but even at this current length- I think I can get away with it. Other than that- LOVE IT.

Another plus is this dress can easily transition from day to night. I could change purses and even throw on a cashmere bolero, add some nice heels and make it evening attire in just a few seconds.

Sold at:Bloomindales, Nordstroms, Dillards and their own website (FrenchConnection.com). I am sure there are other stores online that carry this brand but those are the major stores.

VERDICT: I will be definitely looking into getting more dresses of this brand. I am hoping the fit of the 0’s for all dresses are the same. I am curious to see what other items they have that I will like.

Back of Dress

I love this dress. The color combo is one of my favorites and it’s very versatile. I can wear it to work and transform it for a night out. I’d have to be extra careful not to spill anything while eating (yikes).

Here are some other French Connection dresses in size 0 I am keeping my eyes on:
I just love love love the colors and the sleeves on this one, I am thinking of nabbing this one up before the 0 is gone.
I love bright colors for Spring and Summer and I think with a blazer or a cardigan, I could make this work in the business world. A boyfriend cardigan would be a nice cover-up for this strapless dress.

This one I have had my eye on for awhile now. First, it’s one of my favorite colors for work – gray and the cut is great for work.

I love trying new brands and finding out that they are petite friendly. It can be so frustrating finding clothes that fit properly and we don’t have too many too many options except for the usual: Ann Taylor, BR, Theory, H & M but I get so bored with the same stuff over and over again. I love finding out about other brands that are cut smaller.
Anyone else have a French Connection item?

  1. Nice find! Ive tried some stuff on at their actual store and it was huge. Now I am motivated to give it a second chance! Also I like this new format for your review…very clear and easy to follow. I'll be borrowing it for future reviews!

  2. I have a sweater from FCUK (same brand?) that I received as a gift, and the quality is pretty good and the fit is surprisingly small, even though it wasn't a petite item. Not sure why I haven't checked out their other stuff before, but will them in mind! The bolero looks great with the dress… just makes me want it even more!

  3. @Angie- Thanks so much- black and white are one of my fav color combos! And I agree- just simple and clean 🙂 Love it!

@PAG- You should def give it a 2nd chance- I love it! And thanks for the compliment about my format for my review- so sweet of you! And yes please do borrow it 🙂

  8. This dress (and the whole look) is just stunning! As a person who is also constantly on the look for size 0 clothes, I can honestly say – it is a very lucky find:)

  9. wow, gorgeous dress 🙂 I'm definitely digging the neckline and the classic silhouette. I agree that you can wear this dress from day to tonight, definitely a versatile piece!

For the other options, I'm soooooo in love with the Wendy Cotton dress! The color and style are perfect 😀 And I can see you wearing the last one, a classic LGD!:)

  10. US size zero should be a UK size 4! However French Connection is terrible for vanity sizing so it is probably is more like an 8.

  11. I have a couple of sweater dresses and the Streaky Stripe dress. The my petite (5'1") frame quite well. I love them.

  12. I’m curious to find out what blog system you have been working
with? I’m experiencing some small security issues with my latest website and I would like to find something more risk-free.
    Do you have any recommendations?

  13. Nice respond in return of this question with firm arguments and telling all on the topic
    of that.

  14. Having read this I thought it was very informative. I appreciate you finding the time
and effort to put this short article together. I once again find myself spending way too much time
both reading and commenting. But so what, it was still worth it!

  15. This design is incredible! You certainly know how to keep a reader entertained.

Between your wit and your videos, I was almost
moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Wonderful job.
I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that,
how you presented it. Too cool!

  16. I’m not sure why but this site is loading incredibly slow for
me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a issue
on my end? I’ll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.

  17. Terrific article! This is the type of info that are meant to be shared across the net.
Disgrace on the search engines for now not positioning this
post upper! Come on over and talk over with my site
    . Thanks =)
