I stopped by Target on Wednesday morning to pick up a few things and somehow I wandered into the clothes department. Maybe because I saw a 75% off sign and was drawn to it? LOL I hardly if ever go into the clothes section nevertheless, ended up scoring this:
Jacket: William Rast Leather Moto Jacket- size XS (similar here)
Skirt: BB Dakota Groton Tweed Skirt– size 0 (buy here)
Pumps: Ann Taylor Saddle Brown Pumps– size 5 (buy here)
I wasn’t looking for a anything leather much less than another jacket. I never ended up keeping my Express moto jacket, so technically I still am looking. I was rummaging through the 75% rack like a crazy Asian girl looking for any small sizes when I touched this incredibly, soft, buttery, jacket! I was thinking, is this real leather? I have never felt such soft leather before- EVER!!! It was so soft, I just wanted to wrap myself in it and roll around in it!! LOL This is my 3rd attempt at finding a nice leather moto jacket:(
SIZE/FIT: It was a lonely XS hanging on the rack so I quickly tried it on and tweeted about it. The sleeves are way too long but if I love it enough, it will be worth getting fixed. The shoulders which have that patching, (I’m not loving the patchwork) is a bit square and weird. But the overall width when unzipped and zipped up, fits really nicely.
COLOR: Medium brown/saddle brown leather. I actually really like the color! I would typically wear this on the weekends which is nice because all my casual clothes are a neutral palette. It’s a really rich color and not a gross ‘poopy’ brown.
MATERIAL: 100% genuine LAMBSKIN leather! Wow- I can’t even rave enough about how soft this leather is. Seriously, it’s so plush and supple- amazing!!!! Softest butter leather I have ever felt. I love it!
PRICE: Was $199 but on sale for $49.99. I know- can you believe it? For genuine leather!!!!
DISLIKES: The shoulders are the only thing I don’t like. I don’t like the stitching/patch design. It’s a big hard core for me but can I deal with it? Maybe…And obviously the sleeves which are super long and will cost a good chunk of change to tailor. But may be worth it since the price was only $50 for real leather!
VERDICT: Keeping. It’s the best fitting real leather moto jacket I have found and the softness of the leather alone is worth it to me.

I love it on you, it fits like a glove, to use a cliché! I don't think the shoulder stitching takes away from it, it's a nice detail to set it apart from all the other motos out there.
I think that scarf will look good with it, too!
Nice find in terms of price/quality, but it kinda looks like your chest is bursting out of it! Does it look okay if you zip to right under the bust so it's not stretched so tight?
I love Target's XS when they are available. The jacket looks awesome! The only way it could look better is if the sleeves were shorter.
The scarf is really pretty, I like the design. Kinda reminds me of Asian-style print flowers.

I say keep it, the price is amazing and will be worth having tailored. I prefer the sleeves pushed up and your hair will cover up the stitching detail you dislike. I think there is enough going for it to keep.

@AnonymousActually my chest isn't bursting out of it at all. Not sure why the pics look that way but there was plenty of room even when zipped up all the way. And yes it looks just as good right under the bust. I don't feel it's stretched tight at all. It MAY be the way I am posing that makes it appear this way but in real life- it def is NOT the case.

definitely a keep!! i love the color and actually i don't think the shoulder patching is too hardcore. the length is perfect as is the fit in the body. but i do think the sleeves should be hemmed up. unfortunately when i asked around for how much that type of tailoring cost it was around $40. but considering the deal you got on the jacket, i think it's worth it! 🙂

I love this jacket – and it is always great to try new unexpected pieces because who knows what you might fall for, and for a steal!
I personally don't think the shoulder stitching takes away from the jacket, I actually like the detail and think it makes the piece more unique, less run-of-the-mill biker-chic jacket.

I didn't even know Target had leather LOL. This is beautiful – I especially love the contrasting zipper color! The fact that it has buttery leather makes it even better! Now you have me wanting to go to Target 🙂
I really like the asymetrical zip and I actually like the shoulder detail. It adds a teeny bit of bulk, but it also adds interest and I think you can pull off the bulk since you are so tiny and it fits so well.

I agree with everyone. This jacket fits you much better than the express one. The color also goes well with everything and easier to clean. Such a great deal! I am glad you were able to pick up the last one in store.
You look amazing in the jacket! I like the black contrast zippers – I feel it makes it more versatile and wearable. The shoulder detail doesn't bother me. I think it gives it just a little something extra. I would say the only part that doesn't look great is the sleeve – too long. How does the arm holes and sleeve width fit? Will you have to get that tailored too?
I bought this jacket in XS too and it's been sitting in my return pile. Now I'm considering pulling it back out and trying it on again!

Yep, this one's a keeper, the body fits so well just hope it's not too expensive to shorten the sleeves. The shoulders are fine as you have normal shoulders and because it's brown, doesn't look extreme. It gives it a nice definition and balance to the rest of the details of the jacket.
Ahhh I love that jacket! I'm partial because I have a leather jacket in almost the same exact color. Mine is cropped with elbow-length sleeves though. It fits you excellently, very va-va-voom. And I like the shoulder patches! You're right that it's a bit hardcore, but I think it will contrast nicely with the ladylike look you favor. It adds a nice dose of edge.

oooh I LOVE the jacket! We had one left at our Target in my size, but it only got to 50% off before it was snagged by someone else. I was still hesitant to spend $100 on a jacket from Target, but you got it for $50, that's AWESOME. And since I admired it so many times, I can attest to how soft the leather is. 🙂

The jacket is beautiful, Annie! Is there any lining inside? I'm not a huge fan of leather jackets as they feel a bit "heavy" and I've always seen them as overwhelming petite frames. Looks great on you (aside from the sleeves which you mentioned). For $50 that's a steal!
