Review: Ponte Skinny Ankle Pants, Textured Open Jacket, Petite Ankle Jeans

Today I have some quick reviews for you!  My textured open jacket finally arrived!  If you need some black ankle pants that make you look slim and jeans that don’t require any alterations, then this post is for you.  Okay so let’s get started!

Ann Taylor Petite Textured Open Jacket, Ann Taylor petite ponte skinny ankle pants

Textured open jacket (00P) // Ponte skinny ankle pants (0P) // Ruffled shell (xxsp) // Odette bow pumps

Textured open jacket

I ordered this jacket as soon as it came out online but was only available in regular sizes.  Then my order got cancelled even though the inventory showed it was still in stock.  I was furious and hate when this happens!  It happened for a reason because petite sizes became available shortly after and I was able to score it for 50% off (see fitting room post HERE)!

Sizing runs true to size and I’m wearing 00P.  The fit is a bit boxy but if you plan on layering then it should be fine.  The sleeves are supposed to be 3/4″ but it’s bracelet length on me (which I love).  The material is blend of cotton and polyester and very soft.  I have a feeling the sleeves will wrinkle throughout the day since the material is 74% cotton.  I was disappointed the jacket is unlined (even though it says online that it is). It’s more of a blazer than a jacket but it works great for me in Southern Cali.  I knew I would love it and it did not disappoint!  Would definitely recommend!

Ponte skinny ankle pants

Okay remember I posted these ankle pants on Snapchat? After taking some more photos with them, I realized they were a bit too short and the regular sizes were too big in the waist.  So I ordered these ponte skinny ankle pants to try and LOVE THEM!  These are amazing and seriously make you look slim and tall.  I need all the help I can get postpartum.  Sizing runs true to size and I’m wearing 0p.  They fit like a glove however the hem is still 1″ too long for me.  I have them cuffed up in the photo.  I love the the sleek and skinny cut.  They make your butt look good too (lol).  The only downside is the exposed size zipper (ugh).  I’m glad they added back welt pockets to make them look dressier.  I don’t want them mistaken for leggings.  Love and would highly recommend!

Banana Republic petite ankle jeans

Banana Republic indigo ankle jeans vs. Loft Modern ankle jeans-2

Banana Republic ankle jeans (25p) // Sleeveless dot print top (xxsp) // Odette suede bow pumps

It seems like I’m always on the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans.  I’m not the same size as I used to be and my old jeans are a wee bit too tight in the waist.  I want to be able to breathe and not suffocate in my jeans so I’ve been trying on countless pairs lately.  I tried on these distressed jeans the other week (see review post HERE) and really liked how they fit but they were regular length which is what led me to order these petite ankle jeans.  This is my first pair of Banana Republic denim jeans and I really like them!  I love the wash and fit.  Sizing runs true to size and I’m wearing 25p.  The inseam measures 26″ which is slightly too long for me but I’m thinking they will shrink a little in the dryer.  You’ll have to cuff them up once to wear with ankle booties but can be worn with pumps un-cuffed.

Loft modern skinny ankle jeans in dark indigo

Banana Republic indigo ankle jeans vs. Loft Modern ankle jeans-3

Here’s how the Loft modern skinny ankle jeans fit on me.  The inseam is 1″ shorter than Banana Republic’s (25″) and the length is perfect for someone my height (5′ tall).  I have several pairs of Loft modern jeans but none that are ankle length.  Sizing runs true to size and fits really nicely.  They don’t have much stretch but I think this will change after a few washes.  I loved them so much I ordered the black pair too!  It’s so hard to find jeans that fit right and also don’t require cuffing.  Love and would recommend!

Banana Republic indigo ankle jeans vs. Loft Modern ankle jeans-4Here is a side by side comparison of both pairs.  It’s hard to tell but the washes are different (see better pic below).  I like Banana Republic’s wash better but I like the length of Loft’s jeans.  They both fit similar however BR’s has a little more stretch to them and the denim seems to be of higher quality.  I can’t decide which one I like better.  I got both for 40% off so I may end up keeping them.Banana Republic indigo ankle jeans vs. Loft Modern ankle jeans

Aqua scallop colorblock dress

Aqua scalloped hem dress

I’m loving this scallop colorblock dress so much!  Sizing runs small and size XS is petite friendly.  I love the scallop hem – so cute.  Yes I’m scalloped obsessed!  This is the dress I posted this on my IG stories/Snapchat and everyone went bananas over.  The knee length is perfect and it can be worn to work or on the weekends.  I plan on wearing it with my cropped cardigan for Fall.  It’s so cute and I would recommend!

Which jeans do you like better?

  1. Annie- Thanks for the BR petite jean suggestion! I agree with you…do like the BR wash better. Can you tell me where you got your gray t-shirt? can’t find it on here but saw it on your IG video post (it was paired with the jean). Thanks!

  2. Thanks for the review !! what is your snapchat id?
Also could you do a review on a blue skinny distressed denim pants (which is ripped at the knees)?

    Love your blog so much!

  3. Hi Annie! Thank you for the reviews. I like both pairs of jeans but am leaning towards the Banana Republic ones. I recently got a pair there on super clearance (<$10) that were petite friendly in length! I really appreciate the Aqua dress review: I forgot how great this Bloomingdale's brand is and how petite friendly these dresses are! I also like the Aqua Color Block Dress in blush and Aqua Mixed Lace Dress in Navy/Nude. Plus Bloomingdale's FASHFUND sale is going on through 8/28 with 15-20% off!

  4. Hi Annie! Sorry to be posting rather irrelevant question here but I wasn’t sure how else I could reach you. Do you know if Milan’s Gap grey/red dress is still available? I couldn’t find it online 🙁 I absolutely love that dress! Thanks!!

  5. Hi annie, the review is fabulous. I loved the pair of jeans and awesome top. These are marvelous! The black dress is also pretty. Superb post! Thanks to share!

  6. Hi Annie! Is the ann taylor textured open jacket machine washable? I tried to get the XXS Petite size but it got sold out before I was able to. I ended up getting the Small Petite but its a little too big. I was wondering if I could shrink the jacket a little in the drying machine.
