How to style a long cardigan with shorts

One of my favorite pairings this summer is a long cardigan and shorts. I don’t know what it is about this combo but it’s surprisingly comfortable, laid back yet you still look put together. This is what I usually throw on when I’m pressed for time or have no clue what to wear – which is more often than I care to admit (lol). This long cardigan is one of my favorites! I love it so much that I have it in two colors.

Blush and white will always be my go-to colors. I can’t get enough and don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. If you don’t already have this cardigan, you need it in your life! It goes with everything and I mean everything. I have it in ‘tan cobblestone’ and the color I’m wearing in this post is ‘pink smoke’. It comes in both regular and petite sizing.

Sizing runs true to size and I’m wearing XXSP. Halogen petite sizing always works for me. It’s hands down one of my favorite brands from Nordstrom.

I used to never wear shorts but this year, I’ve been wearing them nonstop. Have I been missing out all these years? I think shorts are even harder to shop for than jeans! The inseam has to be just right or it can look completely wrong. I prefer a 3.5″ inseam and sometimes 3″ will work depending on the cut. Summer isn’t over yet so if you need a pair of denim shorts, I’ve rounded up some of my picks.

Let’s take a moment and talk about these Marc Fisher platform wedge sandals. I’ve contemplated these for over a year and finally took the plunge back in February. Let me tell you – they are 100% worth it. They live up to all the hype and most definitely one of the most comfortables sandals EVER. When I say comfortable, I mean you can actually wear them ALL DAY and your feet will not hurt. Sizing runs true to size and I took my normal size 5. It comes in three different colors – I have blush suede. I would highly recommend them!

I have a tendency to wear the same accessories over and over again. I go through these phases where I will wear a few pieces until they start tarnishing (lol). This Phara tassel lariat necklace is a MUST HAVE. You can wear it multiple ways and I’ve never had so many women stop and ask me where I got it. Also, if you have petite wrists, this Elton station cuff is adjustable and comes in several colors. As you may have noticed, I wear it in almost every post. It’s so hard finding cute bracelets for petite wrists!
