Petite Review: Ann Taylor Textured Jacquard Sheath Dress in Pale Iris- size 00p

I was super excited to get this Ann Taylor Sheath dress and it was sort of a flop that I found a 00p! It was sold out online but one day I happened to refresh it and there was a 00p waiting for me so I had no choice but to order and luckily I had the 40% which made the price tag much easier to swallow.

It’s hard to tell but the color is a Pale Iris color…..
Dress: Ann Taylor Sheath Dress– size 00p
Shoes: Nine West Nude Pumps– size 5
Purse: Louis Vuitton Alma Handbag
Bracelet: Pink pearls (similar HERE)
These earrings are so dainty and goes with everything. The price is not bad and I get alot of use out of them. And I love leverback earrings because you don’t have to worry about losing the backs of your earrings. Betsey Johnson makes some really cute earrings and the quality is good. I have 3 pairs that I wear constantly.
Here are the stock photos in both colors: Pale Iris and Blueberry
Pros: I love the color and the detail on the shoulder- makes it really unique and very feminine. The armholes are small and the shoulders and bust fit nicely. The length is very work appropriate and hits right at the knee.
Cons: The waist and hips of this dress are not as fitted as I normally like my sheath dresses. Sheath dresses are a way to really show off your curves and this one makes me feel very rectangular/boxy. The Jacquard fabric wrinkles very easily and is apparent in this light pale iris color. The blueberry would have hid it much better.
Here are other Ann Taylor Dresses I have my eyes on:
1. Ann Taylor Petite Cowl Neck Drap Dress– the color walrus is so pretty and this is a newer item so they still have XXS
2. Ann Taylor Petite Floral Sheath Dress– I am not a big fan of floral prints but this one is very pretty and very feminine, and they still have 00p
3. Ann Taylor Vintage Lace Dress– this one is so gorgeous and I definitely will want this on the next 40% off sale

If only the sides would be cut slimmer to accentuate the waist- it would be a perfect fit!
Not 100% in love with this dress but since I got it at 40% off, I think I can live with it:)

  1. This is very pretty! 🙂 I like the Blueberry one better for me because darker colours are slimming xD

    I love the earrings!

  2. When I saw that dress online I fell in love…but 00p was long gone. You're lucky that you snagged the one that came back in stock! Its a beautiful dress, but I agree with you that it looks a bit big. It's really fitted in the model, which was a major part of it's appeal because the silhouette is simple. Are you going to get it altered? I can see it looking smashing if the sides are slimmed a bit! Unfortunately if it us lined alterations would probably cost quite a bit…

  3. You look absolutely FANTASTIC as always! I GOT THE JOB!!! They told me right away and I got an offer letter the same day! You're the first to know in the blogger community hehehe! By the way, I don't know your first name. What is your first name? I went to H&M for size 2 clothes! 🙂 I wish I could shop where you shop, but I am on a budget, but I live vicariously through you by reading your blog and seeing all your fabulous outfits! Happy Monday!

  4. I don't know how I really feel about this colour but I always like to try new things 😀

It's Revlon Colorsilk Medium Golden Brown – super cheap ^_^ I want to try Palty dyes sometime.

  5. @PAG- I def should alter the sides and hips to make this dress more fitted but I just can't justify spending that much money on alterations because then it would push the total price on this dress to well over the limits 🙂 But it sure would make it look perfect and yes it is lined so def spendy tailoring costs!

@April- YAY! So glad you got the job- I had a good feeling you were going to get it!!!! Super happy for you!!! So you checked out H & M size 2's?? Whoo hoo! They fit great don't they?? Thanks for always saying such nice things- you are so awesome!!!!
