Three Ways to Wear a Sheath Dress

So I never thought to layer this Banana Republic sheath dress with a silk shirt but it actually worked! Here it is…I did feel like a flight attendant and almost wanted to say to people, “Coffee, tea, sugar?”.  The whole scarf thing for some reason makes me feel weird but I can’t detach it:) And for some strange reason, it worked on this outfit.

Dress: Banana Republic (Outlet) Belted Sheath Dress- size 00p (similar HERE and HERE)
Shirt: Bebe Zebra Silk scarf blouse- size XS (similar HERE)
Shoes: BCBG patent peep toes– size 5 (sold HERE)
Click below to see how it’s worn 3 different ways for 3 different looks.

Here is the same black sheath dress worn 3 different ways. I like getting my money’s worth!
Simple black sheath dress….(similar HERE)
Dress with Theory gray blazer…(similar HERE)
Layered with silk blouse underneath. (sold HERE)
Voila! You have three different looks, 3 different oufits! No one would ever know it’s the same dress. I love getting my money’s worth out of each purchase. When you buy simple and classic pieces, you can wear it with so many different pieces. So it’s not about quanity, it’s about quality and classic pieces that will last you many years.
When layering a fitted sheath dress, you have to be very careful not to pick a bulky shirt. This Bebe blouse is is very thin and very fitted so therefore I was able to get away with wearing it underneath. The black sheath dress from H & M which is way more fitted than this BR dress, I could never layer because it’s so tight. So be selective when pairing a blouse with a similar dress.
The zebra print is so  nice because it’s not obnoxious like some animal prints. I am not a big animal print fan but when its subtle like this, it works in the professional world. The scarf definitely adds a little flair.
If anyone else has ideas on how to wear a sheath dress in a different way, I would love to hear any thoughts! 🙂
