Lookbook: LOFT Pleated Tweed Sheath Dress- Size 00p (And YouTube Video Review)

I have realized something about LOFT dresses! Most of the time, when I see them on the hanger in-store or online, they don’t look as cute but when I actually bring them home and try it on, it always look better on! That’s happened with my  petite cowl neck sweater dress and the petite patterned flutter shift dress I got about 2 weeks ago. And I love both of them! This post will include a video and stylebook pictures:)

See this dress here on Mini Maestra. She’s 3″ taller so it’s interesting to see how it fits on different heights. I am so happy tweed is still in this year because I love the look!

FIT: I look for 3 main things when shopping for dresses. The armholes, waist, and length. The armholes on this tweed dress is tiny and fits perfectly! Hits right below the armpit with no loose gaps! YAY! The waist fits nicely and the pleating details and black band accent breaks up the tweed fabric making the waist appear small- a major plus! The length hits about 2″ above the knee on me (I am 5′ tall) so that is my ideal length for skirts and dresses. Any shorter would be too short for the professional world and any longer would cut off my short legs. I am loving the fit on this dress!

MATERIAL: This is a wool blend which makes it lightweight and really comfortable. It’s fully lined which is great for wearing nylons and tights in the Fall/Winter. It’s thin enough to layer with a cashmere cardigan or a blazer if needed. I like wearing it alone but will throw on a cute cashmere cardigan if I get cold.

QUALITY: LOFT’s quality has always been good. I have never had an issue other than pilling of some of their tops. This dress is very well made. It has a back zipper which is nice because the sides stay nice and straight. All the stitching is perfect- haven’t found a flaw yet!

PRICE: Orginal price of $79.99 but I got 30% off = $55.99. Not bad for a cute tweed sheath dress for work which involves no alterations. I am totally fine with this price. Of course- the cheaper the better but then I risk not having my 00p size!

VERDICT: Totally keeping and LOVE it!!!

Here is my youtube video review (the dress actually looks better in the video)- I was in a big rush to work so didn’t have time to re-do:)

I also found the sculpted sheath dress in a size 00p with 50% so I couldn’t resist for $35 and is sold out online! I believe a few other bloggers have picked up this dress too. I lucked out and found one just this past weekend in-store so it doesn’t hurt to go there or call ahead! If anyone needs the tag for reference, please let me know:)

  1. What a cute dress!! I like the waist too! It's really youthful looking w/o appearing childish. Nice find!

  2. The dress looks terrific on you, I am really loving some of LOFT's recent designs but 30% off isn't an attractive enough discount for me yet since my cart is like 10 items big. sigh. Your CL's go with everything, they are definitely a valuable investment piece.

  3. You and Elle post about the cutest dresses. As usual LOFT was a great choice. I've yet to find a sleeveless top/dress with an armhole that fits me that perfectly. You look great!

  4. Wow, this dress looks gorgeous on you!! I was curious about how it would look on shorter petites after seeing Michelle's review earlier. It's definitely on my LOFT wishlist now after seeing how perfectly it fits you!

  5. Thanks for the link! πŸ™‚

Wow! The dress looks great on you! So glad it fits you well! LOFT's armholes are amazing, aren't they? I am starting to find out that since I am a taller petite, not all LOFT oop items will be the best for me in length. πŸ™

You did not need a video re-do…that was great!

  6. Love the dress! Sheath dresses seem to have a way of making an outfit look just more put together than a top/skirt ever could. Plus I love tweed! And great video too. You're very personable on camera! Looking forward to seeing more πŸ™‚

  7. Love this dress and you're so natural on video!!!! How many takes did that take you to do? VERY IMPRESSED! Great job!

I missed your other video since the link wasn't working but I'll see if I can find it again πŸ™‚

  8. Nice dress! I did get the sculpted sheath dress as well so I'll be sure to put up a review soon. I really like the thorough breakdown you did with the dress review!
Michelle – I feel like I'm the same way with some of the LOFT 00p dresses! You and I are really similar in that we can generally bounce in between the 00p and 0p. =0D

  9. The dress looks great! Very professional, but not stuffy. And the sleevelessness makes it all-seasonal. It would go with a variety of blazers/cardigans.

  10. I like this dress. My only wish is that it isn't an empire waist and that it sits lower @ the natural waist. Sometimes empire waist makes me look like a kid. Not so attractive when I have a 12 yr old boy's body already.

  11. I think it looks really cute on you. At first I wasn’t too sold, but when I played the video it definitely made me realize that it does look really good on you. I know you don’t want to appear too much taller than you are, but this does make you look a couple of inches taller because of the higher waistline. Great bargain as well!

  12. Love this dress! I love the color and it looks perfect for cooler weather. You could also winterize it with a black longsleeved shirt underneath. Very cute!

  13. The fabric is so perfect for fall. This dress looks fantastic on you with tights and shoes you picked, love it!!
