Have you ever purchased something and wondered what was I thinking? I have no idea what on earth possessed me to get all this Rock & Republic make-up on Hautelook. I spent so much and don’t even need it…eeks! I am a true make-up novice but thought I would attempt to show you what I bought. No shots of me actually wearing it, that would be disastrous! I’m a creature of habit so even though I have all this new make-up to try, I always reach for my cheap make-up that I am used to. Plus, these are so pretty that I don’t want to use them!
Eyeshadow colors from left to right:
Snakeskin, Affair, Lost and Diffused
Here is what each color looks like on my hand.
Snakeskin– This has a hint of green in it so I’m not sure how this will work with my brown/neutral color scheme.
Affair- I usually use this light color to blend in with my brown eyeshadows but this one has a glittery sheen to it so probably not something I would wear to work. Maybe on the weekends?
Lost- This is my favorite color out of the 4. It’s more of a matte finish which I prefer and is work appropriate.
Diffused- I really like this color too, it’s similar to most of the brown eyeshadows that I typically use.
.This blush was gifted to me from Vicky at VickysFashion. She is so sweet! She heard I didn’t have any and graciously sent me one and I love it! The whole reason why I was on Hautelook looking at R & R makeup was in hopes that they had blush on sale. Unfortunately the ticking clock when you add items to your card somehow tricked and convinced me that I need all this other stuff:(
I have tried this blush and one swipe literally transforms my blah face into somewhat alive. You have to be very careful because it goes on so well that you don’t want to do too much otherwise you will look like a clown.
I tried this once and I think it’s the right color for me. It may be a bit too light when I am tan but since I have my winter Asian skin color, it goes on nicely and lasts through-out the day.
Bronzer/Highlighter in PENTHOUSE.
I attempted to use this once already and it goes on pretty nicely. I am afraid to use too much so I can’t really tell if it makes that big of a difference.
I had no idea I got the bronzer w/brush package…no wonder why it was so insanely expensive! It even comes with a cute little pouch. I am sucker for pretty packaging…hehehe. It’s almost too pretty and too expensive to even take out of the box!

Nice eye shadows! I love R&R cosmetics, especially the blusher. Seduce is actually my favourite, closely followed by Bedroom and then Foreplay. I have the powder and use it over my regular foundation…whenever I remember to wear it. It doesn't look cakey and keeps the oil adequately enough.
I am a total makeup novice, too, so I feel the same way when I buy a bunch of it. I love the shadows!
every time they come up on a sample sale site, I'm tempted to buy, but I just can't justify such a purchase, I don't need more blush, eyeshadow, etc. They do look nice though and I've heard so many good things about the brand.
Darn! I was gonna say…I'll buy Seduce! I already have Snakeskin and dont need more matte browns. to be honest, i wasn't too impressed by the eyeshadows. I do like the blush, but can get the same quality for cheaper.

i've heard lots of good things about R&R cosmetics! you have some lovely buys. for me, watching YouTube tutorials where ppl are using similar products help inspire me to start using new cosmetics. maybe that'll help? 🙂

I love my R&R blushes. I bought mine a few months a go and use them every single day. I have never tried their eyeshadow though.
I have yet to try R&R, but then again, I don't wear much makeup anyways and I can hardly tell what works and what doesn't.
But I have had times where a package arrives in the mail and I wonder why in the world did I even buy it cuz it's so not flattering IRL. But as long as they have a great return policy, I can send it back relatively guilt-free. =)
I am also a makeup novice! I have a few things from either those makeup consultation events from department stores or some other things I purchased after seeing blogger reviews. Haven't ever tried R&R but it looks their eyeshadow has a very nice high-pigment quality!
They are so pretty I don't want to use them either. I also have no idea why I bought them. haha

But you seem pretty happy with colours minus the extravagance in purchases I feel your pain! I tend to to do the same thing with makeup in general. buy too much of it and not use it! I actually have this huge "suitcase" thats full of make up and I keep saying to myself I am going to finish what I have before I use the "new" stuff….
I have the snakeskin eyeshadow and I like it! I'd love to try their blushes but it was sold out. I love their packaging, it's awesome. Too bad the eyeshadows didn't work out for you.

I bought 7 of R&R blushes (seduce and x-rated) when they were on sale in December of 10 and gave 5 to my sisters-in law and friend. They LOVE..love..love the colors. Now I still have two hanging in my make-up case unused and brand new. Most likely I will sell them because I have rosecea…my face has more than enough red lol.
Yay I am a sucker when it comes to make-up too. I like to buy them but don't use them. I have been better as far as resisting an urge to buy and hoard unless I will definitely use them.

I've never tried any R&R make up but I've seen it (especially the blushes) ranted and raved so much in the petite community! I'm going to keep an eye out for the next time it's on Hautelook 🙂
