LaceSkirtWall

Sweater: J.Crew Merino Chiffon Cardigan– size XXS (similar here)
Skirt: ModCloth social hour skirt– size small (similar here and here and here)
Belt: J.Crew painted denim belt in spicy mustard- size XS (similar here)
Necklace: Amrita Singh
Bracelet: Sunset bangle (courtesy of Stella Dot)
Pumps: Ann Taylor Perfect Pumps– size 5 (buy here)
Purse: Chanel Beige Flap
Earrings: Chanel Diamante Logo

I’m trying really hard to wear older items and mix with my newer items until I can go shopping again:) This ModCloth crochet skirt is super cute but I have some issues with it. You can see this skirt on Jean here. The skirt is a size small but the waist is too big for me so I have to wear it really low on my hips. Therefore the length is longer than it should be. The lining is nice but extremely thin and see through so you have to make sure you are not wearing colored panties!

LACESKIRT2

I am LOVING my J.Crew painted denim belt in spicy mustard. The XS is teeny weeny which is perfect for wearing high up on my waist. See my belt post and video here.

I have come to realize that these Ann Taylor perfect leather pumps in saddle brown are seriously HUGE on me even in a size 5. Can you see the huge gap in my heel? So sad:( The only AT pumps that fit decent is the perfect patent pumps which I have in black and porcini. The suede ones which I ended up selling for dirt cheap and these saddle brown’s are gigantic:( So there definitely is a size inconsistency going on here!

  1. wow Annie, that skirt is beautiful! I wish I had a crochet skirt now too, but the see throughness would be an issue for me πŸ˜‰

These pictures are GORGEOUS – the turquoise and the mustard go beautifully together.

  2. Since finding out about this blog, I have admired your beauty. Your beauty is truly apparent with this fantastic look. You are a petite goddess with exceptionally great looks and wonderful flair. As for this outfit, you look truly lovely. The crochet skirt is very nice, but I really love the sweater. This sweater is very charming on you, complimenting your already lovely looks even more so. Great outfit!

  3. I love this from head to toe! The turquoise necklace + mustard + crochet + Chanel = to die for!

    Just lovely, as always πŸ™‚

  4. I thought for sure you were wearing the AT crochet dress as a skirt! I swear the crochet layer is the same, but something was different about the inside lining. Great use of neutral colors and accessories, Annie!

  5. Lovely color combo. I am always stumped on what to wear with mustard or turquoise. Would you say crochet skirts are work appropriate? I work in Finance but it's semi-conservative.

Did your hub take pics or ???

  6. I think the skirt and the cardigan are both very nice. I agree that the shoes look a little too big. But I think the Chanel helps to overlook that fact πŸ˜‰

  7. Oh no! What happened to the shoes! Did they stretch out?

I really love the pairing of mustard and turquoise! Absolutely perfect.

  8. Great pics. I guess mustard comes in all different shades, like this dark one that looks great on you. The skirt doesn't look too long at all. Oh, i''m sorry to see the pumps are huge. Have you tried adding a full doctor schools pad to the footbed?

  9. Love your blog! I've never thought of combining mustard color with turquiose. Great combo! Thanks for the inspiration. And no, I don't have crochet skirt (yet) but seriously think about it now.

  10. Just like the ladies on Twitter, I thought the skirt was the AT Factory lace dress. Either way, it looks great with the mustard and turquoise! I actually like the length of where the skirt hits you. Any higher would be too short in my opinion. And I know how you feel about AT pumps. My feet are 4.5/5, otherwise I'd probably own as many pairs as Jean does. If only AT made down to that size…

  11. I think that the skirt being big in the waist worked out for you. I prefer it long like this. and i kinda like the lining being shorter.

p.s. how come your husband didn't help u take pics before? cuz I'm really liking these pics w/his help.

  12. @AubreyOhDang! I never thought of it that way Aubs! I guess it does work out..yay! LOL

And hubby never helped me before because of work and his schedule. But now that he's helped a few times, I am hoping this becomes a permanent thing..hehehe πŸ˜€

  13. This skirt is so unique and pretty! I love how you added that necklace, its the perfect pop of color!

  14. Oh you look so pretty in crochet! The skirt length is great I think as long as you don't mind it riding a bit lower. The AT pumps look huge. πŸ™‚ I had to size down for this one. I normally wear size 6, but I got size 5.5 and it fit perfectly, so I can see why it's too big for you.

  15. i love these gorgeous outside photos! the crochet skirt is super romantic on you and goes well with mustard! yeah i find that most size 5's are way too big on me and leave an unsightly gap. we should go shoe hunting together haha, our poor petite feet!

  16. I love this look Annie. The skirt looks really good and I thought the length is perfect. I love these photos. You look so pretty.

I'm a size 5 and Ann Taylor size 5 pumps are still too big on me. They're so comfortable though.

  17. Hi,
could you let me know what the waist measurement on this gorgeous lace skirt is? there's a cute one from forever 21 that is similar, but i'm afraid it might run too big on me and i have really similar measurements to you! thanks πŸ™‚

  18. Hi Anh!

The waist in this skirt was huge- measuring at about 13.5" flat across. I finally splurged and got the
waist taken in by 1.5" so now it's 12" and fits nicely.

    I hope this helps;)
