Shoes: Christian Louboutin Simple 100– size 35/5 (buy here)
Alas, I have officially joined the color blocking trend! A year ago, I would have NEVER thought to wear these colors together!!! I actually wore this to work today and got tons of compliments. No one is used to seeing me in such vibrant colors:)
In case your wondering, the title of this post, “something old, something new and something blue”- the skirt is super old, the new is my beloved Louboutin’s (early b-day gift) I have been coveting them since I got the black simple 100’s last August. And the something blue is clearly my shirt. Just thought I would explain it!
I am super excited for this weekend! I get to see my parent’s who are coming in from the Midwest. My birthday will be extra special this year because I get to spend it with them. Being the baby of the family, it’s hard to be so far away so I am super happy to see them!
Here is how to recreate this look: (click on each image to shop)
I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
What do you think about these colors? Do they work together?
Really well done tutorial.
Awesome outfit!!!

lovely!!!! the colors are so pretty and perfect for the weather. =D and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I love your color combination! Everything looks so put together and still very work appropriate. It certainly gives a more friendlier approach and such a bright feel to the whole look!
This looks beautiful! I haven't tried color blocking yet, but I'm looking forward to the occasion.
I love these colors together, you look incredible! Polished, professional, classy and chic. I love this!
Come take a look inside A Working Mom's Closet
Love the color blocking. Especially the red soles! lol
Oh they totally work! Congratulations on the new shoes and on trying color blocking. See, color isn't so bad, right? 🙂
You're working with great colours here, Annie! I love the bright pink!
Cute outfit!! I love the color blocking 🙂 This is random (and I hope this doesn't creep you out), butt I just realized that you totally look like my mom when she was younger! You're both really petite, and like you, she always had to tailor her clothes and buy really tiny shoe sizes. Unfortunately, I didn't inherit her petite genes because I think it would be FUN to be really petite! 🙂
Great colour combo!
This is gorgeous! You got this trend just right, and look absolutely stunning Annie!
Such sweet combinations…beautiful arrays of candy colors.
I love this – from head to toe! I'm all about the color-blocking trend and have recently found new pieces to put together from my own closet that I never would have done before!! Great outfit!

Great color combos. Yes, they work and look fabulous! Thanks for the inspiration.
you look lovely and amazing shoes! the pop of red with the nude is stunning!
How pretty is that pink skirt paired with the blue! How do you keep your belts in place when there are no belt buckles? I feel like I am always adjusting my belts, they wiggle around, twist and turn….maybe you just have more luck.
Cute outfit…and yet I vaguely remember this look before…or something similar on your site? LOL. Anyways, great outfit and I love the bright colors. =)
I love the color choice but the fit of the clothes is most flattering on you. I don't know if anyone tells you this, but you sure know what fits you well.
The pencil skirt is from F21? I'm in awe! Is it an old skirt? I love the pink color. It's just the right amount of pink. Talking about pink, I just got my leather vest from BDB. The leather is to die for! The fit is perfect.
You look fab as usual, and the nude CL pumps are so gorgeous!
OMG I love it!!! YOu look really nice in bright colors. I hope to see more color blocking outfits!
And Belated Happy Birthday!
these are so cute! i think you look great colorblocking, annie. do it more often for summer! it's fitting that you toned down the bright colours on top with nude heels. perfecto 🙂

These colours are fabulous on you! Great combo, love it!
Were these CLs the one from Barney's?!? If so, yay and congrats!! I don't have to keep my lips sealed anymore lol. Man, they really are the perfect match for your skintone.
Hope you have a great bday with the fam!
Darling outfit! Love your blog!
Definitely works well together! I love the bright colors together and they play off each other beautifully – you always look great 🙂
Those colors definitely do work together. Great combination, Annie. Those shoes are hot! They go perfectly well with your outfit. Enjoy your special day with your family 🙂
Wow, you look great!

a few years ago, I referred to birthdays as barfdays. hahaha. so here's a joke for you instead:
Birthdays are like boogers. The more you have, the harder it is to breath. hahaah.
the CLs look a 1/2 size too big for you. what sz are these? how come u dind't get it in a 34? Are you just gonna use padding to fix this tiny problem? I am glad u decided to go w/the simples instead of the platform ones. I dont particularly like the platforms for work as I do these classic ones, esp bc the platform wasn't covered.
@AubreyOhDang! LOL thanks Aubs! And it's so strange because the black simple 100's CL fit me perfectly but these nude ones are 1/2 size too big. I have never seen a size 34 available and figured the 35's would fit like my black ones. I will def be adding padding for SURE 🙂 And no platforms for me…they are not work/office appropriate IMO!
happy belated bday Annie!!! 🙂
the CL's run really weird, sizing is different for regular leather vs. patent and also different between heel heights. yikes!
These colours definitely work together and Happy Birthday!
@granola2glam_chris hi there! I usually have to punch extra holes and then wear it on the tightest hole to keep it in place. But it doesn't always stay put so I sometimes have to adjust it although it stays put for the most part. No magic tricks- just wear on last hole to fit ur waist snug:)
Really great post Really Petite! 🙂 I love the collage idea!
you look so cute! I love this outfit and yay for the nude simples!! I know you've been wanting them for a long time. they look so great on you!!
