I have been itching to get this YSL arty ring and finally pulled the trigger. I was ecstatic when I found out I could order a size 4 because I knew the 5 would be too big. The only way you can order a size 4 is directly through YSL online. The smallest size department stores carry is size 5. So many great bloggers have this ring in different colors: (Tiffany, Jean, Wendy, Jessy) and I am sure thousands more.

This outfit was inspired by a photo I found on pinterest. I thought it was so cute and figured I needed to do an outfit that was not work attire.  I am wearing my H & M tank dress ($12.95 from last summer) as a skirt…last week I tried a dress as a top- see? I am going outside my comfort zone! Woo hoo!  It’s definitely on the “sexy” side so this is something I would wear to date night or out to dinner.

It was so insanely hot outside and here I am posing in 3 layers! I thought I was seriously going to die of heat stroke. The things we go through for blog photos!

I am loving my YSL arty ring and wasn’t sure I could pull off such a big and bold ring but it’s quite versatile and the lapis blue is GORGEOUS!
It’s so easy to re-create this look!

  1. Ha, I just was thinking I would roast in that outfit if I wore it in the summer. Sometimes simple is nice…

I do like the lapis ring. I have been contemplating getting a piece of jewelry in that color. It's so pretty.

  2. i love the colour you chose! still can't bring myself to dish out $150 for a ring but i want to 🙂

i love the way you wore your sexy dress as a skirt. getting more creative with every outfit!

  3. Oh, I love this "new" look, Annie! The "inspiration" is Sydney from The Day Book, right? Oh how did you make your WOC so short chained? lol

  4. @Diana LOL I was sweating like crazy in this outfit but suffered for this post! Hehehe

And I have been obsessed with this lapis blue color and am so glad I went with this choice:D

  5. @Vicky Thanks Vicky! And not sure if it's from the day book- never heard of that but will check out- just found it on Pintrest and loved it..LOL And oh the WOC chain, all you have to do is wrap the chain 2-3 times around (I believe) to make it a double short chain:D

  6. I love this outfit! Everything goes together so well. The ring is beautiful too but I'm scared to wear such a huge ring.

BTW, your pictures are so clear. It's really professional looking.

  7. You look gorgeous Annie! And I do love the colour you picked for the ring.

LOL – it's crazy hot here too so I can only imagine how it is for you! You don't look like you're uncomfortable at all though 😉

  8. @galpal.hi hi Kat!! I was super scared to wear this huge ring but it's not as bad as I thought! You should try it!! And thanks so much for the compliment on my pics- its all due to my camera and hubby…hehehe

  9. @The Little Dust Princess hahaha thanks Jessy!! I'm loving my ring! It's big and bold and totally awesome!!!

And you saw someone wear it alone with no cover up? I had to wear a shrug with it the last time I wore it otherwise it's way too sexy…lol thanks so much Jessy! You are so sweet!!

  10. It's great to see you bust out old items, Annie. Great job with the dress-as-a-skirt look 🙂 It's addicting, isn't it? I think I've gone through my whole closet trying to recreate these looks.

  11. Oh Annie, You look so chic! Can't love this outfit more, it's so inspiring. I have seen many versions of the YSL arty ring, like the color you chose, so gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.

  12. I love..love..love the layerings you did with this outfit. You have mastered the art of layering. The skirt part is sexy and playful. I adore the pink ruffles cardigan you posted to create this same look too.

  13. I really love this look Annie! I love that you like pink too! I don't know a lot of gals who do. Hehehe! Thanks for your blog comment on my Style Haul guest hosting. You should do it too!
