H&M Trend Navy Textured Peplum Top + White Textured Flared Skirt

I love the peplum trend but am trying to stay away from it because I know this is a trend that probably won’t last forever (plus I have too many peplum tops). I prefer classic pieces that will withstand the test of time but I couldn’t pass this one up. It fits me perfectly and I adore the sleeves, textured fabric and navy color. It’s more of a classic peplum style than the ones I have seen.

I am pretty sure this is from the “Trend” collection. H&M usually has their Trend items {select stores} at the front of the store but the location I went to had it scattered everywhere.  Make sure to call your local store to see if they carry the “Trend Collection” – not all stores have this line.

I finally found my white flared skirt I have been looking everywhere for!  The waist fits me perfectly in a size 2 but the length is super long and is overpowering on someone my height (5′ tall).  The length would look perfect on someone taller.  See it on Jess here. I pinned up the hem (see below) by 4″ and it hits me right  in the middle of my knees. There is a lot of fabric and gathering at the waist which makes it appear a bit funny?  I have to see if it’s even possible to remove some of the extra fabric.  I adore it so much that I am going to try to make this work. The material is thick and has textured polkadots – so cute.  I am so happy that it has pockets – huge selling point for me. 

I apologize for the bad pinning job, I was in a hurry and just wanted to show the difference in length. Hopefully once it is properly ironed and hemmed, it will look much smoother and not as bulky on the bottom.
