Banana Republic Colorblock Sloan Dress1

I tried on this dress (buy here) last month (see here) and couldn’t believe how perfectly it fit. I love how it hugs your curves without being too tight. The only complaint I have is that the material does wrinkle after sitting. Other than that, it’s one of the best fitting dresses I own.

I ordered this Ann Taylor necklace (buy here) during the 60% flash sale and didn’t realize it wasn’t adjustable. I clearly had sales goggles on when ordering. I love the color and look but unfortunately you can’t make the necklace shorter. I love it enough to keep it and tied a knot in the back for outfits like this.

If you need a simple pair of black pumps for work, I would definitely recommend these J.Crew sloan pumps (buy here). They are very reminiscent of the Ann Taylor perfect patent pumps with the almond toe and 3.5″ heel height. They are way better quality and will hopefully last a long time.

  1. I wanted this dress to work sooo badly for me; but unfortunately it just was a little to sexy for work with my body shape (5’4″, 130 lbs, Size 2 and XS in tops and Size 6 in bottoms!) Little too va-va-voom for the office 😉 I don’t do nearly enough date nights with the hubs to justify the price!

  2. This dress looks so much better on you than on the model on the BR website. You look absolutely amazing!

  3. Nice dress, but I was highly disappointed that the back was not colorblocked as well – just black. Felt it cheapened the look. For $150 or even the $75 sale price, I’d rather put that money towards a dress I love more than one I’d soon stop wearing the more I saw how the back cheapened the dress. I also impulsed purchased it due to the great fit but after thinking about it reasonably, realized it is not well made due to this cost cutting approach. It does fit you well though
