Pregnancy Style: What to wear in your second trimester

I was able to wear my regular clothes all through my first trimester but now it’s getting to a point where it’s borderline uncomfortable and definitely not flattering.  It’s been quite interesting getting dressed everyday with all the changes I’m going through but I’m loving every minute of it.  It feels good not to have to “hide” the growing bump anymore. 🙂

Getting through the first trimester was difficult. You’re constantly worrying about everything but now I can somewhat relax.  And by relax, I mean worrying only 90% of the time vs. 100%.  The nausea and other lovely pregnancy symptoms have subsided and I’m slowing getting my appetite back (yay!).  Mama needs to get her grub on…lol

Don’t judge me if I start wearing muumuu’s. lol

It gives you the over sized look but doesn’t overwhelm your face.  Really nice quality and I love that they’re polarized too!
That’s all I got for now.  I’m learning as I go with this whole pregnancy thing.  I’m glad I’m able to share this journey with you.  Just in case you missed my pregnancy announcement, check out my reveal post HERE and YouTube video!  Thanks for reading. XO

  1. You look so adorable in this dress Annie! Loose dresses are great for hiding food babies too. hehe Congrats again! <3

  2. I’ve had two kiddos and for my first, I did buy and wear lots of maternity clothes. I found most to be hideous and seemed to emphasize all the parts I wanted hidden. I have a similar figure to yours and found that the best items for me (with Kiddo 2), were a great pair of maternity jeans, a few flowy swing tops (I used most of my non maternity ones), maternity ponte pants, and some jersey dresses.
My youngest is now 4, so maybe styles have changed. But I found that most maternity tops were these low cut empire waist monstrosities with a flimsy tie in the back that didn’t do much.
Oh, this may be TMI, but do invest in great undergarments and those belly bands. I used them after the baby and I felt it helped me get my tummy back so much quicker.
    Congratulations!

  3. Hey Annie! Congrats on your pregnancy! I look forward to seeing your pregnancy style posts. I had my daughter last year, and maternity clothes were definitely a challenge! I ended up getting a lot of my favorite tops from H&M, their maternity clothes run smaller than most brands and they have super cute stuff. I got some petite length work pants at Motherhood Maternity – quality/style is not the best but I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on clothes I would be wearing for a few months. I got a few pieces from the Loft Maternity line that I loved (esp their jeans, sooo soft). Got a few basic tees at Target and Kohl’s that were comfy and fit pretty well after a few washes. Also had a very generous fellow petite friend who gave me her maternity clothes. I’m so happy for you! Enjoy every minute, it flies by!!!

    • Thanks so much Katie! I love getting tips and advice from Mom’s so keep them coming! Lol I’ll definitely check out H&M maternity. I’m trying to hold off as long as I can. Hehe
