Review: Nautical Outfits and Swimwear

One thing I missed while pregnant was being able to wear flared dresses.  I’m loving this dress so much!  It’s simple, classic and very versatile.  I’m happy to report it’s also petite friendly too!

Anchor brooch, Halogen red bow suede pumps, Modcloth Charter School Cardigan in Red, Modcloth Luck Be a Lady Dress in Navy Contrast, nautical outfit, Red leather bow belt, Tory Burch striped toteSizing for this dress is in UK sizes so it may be a bit confusing for US ladies.  I’m wearing size 4 UK which is equivalent to a 00P in US sizes.  There isn’t much stretch in the waist or bust area so if you have a larger chest, I’d recommend sizing up.  The length is great for petite gals (I’m 5′ tall) – no alterations needed.  I paired this dress with a red cardigan (buy HERE) and added a vintage anchor brooch to give it a nautical twist.  I wanted to define my postpartum waistline so I added a cute red bow belt.  For more of a casual look, you can swap out heels for some flats and throw on a denim jacket.

This polka dot beauty is another favorite dress I got recently.  If you love polka dots, you’re going to go crazy for this dress.  It’s so comfortable and looks great worn alone (love the neckline and sleeves) or with a cardigan.  The dress runs on the smaller side and doesn’t have any stretch.  If you’re similar in size to me, then size small should fit you perfectly.

  1. Hi there! I love that polka dot dress SO much! It looks adorable on you! Can you tell me the waist measurement though? I’m not sure if we’re the same size since I weigh a little more than you (97-98 lbs), but I’m also a bit taller (a whopping 5’3 haha).

  2. Don’t fret about a bathing suit. Modcloth carries esther williams suits. They are amazing. I love my esther williams polka dot suit. Remember took 9 months to make a baby. Give yourself 9 months to get back to shape safely and healthy.
