Now that I’m a new mommy, I’m lucky if I have fifteen minutes to get ready. Sometimes I barely brush my hair let alone put makeup on. That said, I wouldn’t trade it for the world because my daughter Milan is everything to me and worth giving up everything for! A few extra minutes during the day can make a huge difference when you have new baby. In order to be efficient, I’ve become pretty strategic about narrowing down my makeup routine to just the basics. This way I don’t look like a zombie and I don’t waste time applying anything unnecessary. I’ve simplified a quick and very easy beauty routine to make you look put together, yet natural. You can accomplish this look in ten minutes or less – sometimes I can get it done in only five!

To start, I use Burt’s Bees® BB Cream in medium shade – it’s available in three shades (light, light/medium and medium). I don’t like when foundation or makeup looks heavy or obvious so that’s why I love the lightweight coverage of this BB Cream and how it conceals and reduces the appearance of my fine lines and wrinkles. Since I live in sunny California, I need all the sun protection I can get so obviously I was thrilled that this contains SPF15 and doesn’t leave a thick or sticky residue on my skin. I don’t know about you but if it protects my skin, conceals my flaws and imperfections (and I have a lot of them) and feels light and airy, then it’s definitely a winner in my book.
I always apply the BB Cream with a brush. You can choose to apply it with your fingers but based on lots of trial and error, I find that using a brush gives you a much smoother and even appearance. I currently use the EcoTools® Skin Perfection brush and it’s amazing!
The rounded edge of the brush is ideal for precise coverage around the eyes and nose. The angled edge of the brush allows you to apply hard to reach areas on your face. I also use the EcoTools® Pointed Concealer brush to hide any blemishes and conceal my dark circles (works like a charm).
Next, I usually apply eyeliner and mascara (if time allows). I’ve had very little sleep lately so I like to apply a little bit of blush using the EcoTools® Blending and Bronzing brush to the apples of my cheeks just to give my face a little bit of color. The brush (so plush) helps blend my makeup together for a flawless look.
Last but not least you need lipstick to complete your look. It’s amazing what a little color on the lips can do. I’m loving Burt’s Bees® lipsticks since they hydrate and moisturize my lips. This is especially helpful if you have dry or chapped lips. It’s available in 14 satin finish shades and they’re gorgeous!
I’m wearing magenta rush mixed with fuchsia flood and used the EcoTools® Detailed Lip Liner brush to line my lips. I find that lipstick always looks better when you line your lips first – it creates a nice outline to fill in the color with and makes your lips look fuller.

P.S – Since my pregnancy, I’ve become more health conscious and aware of what I apply on my body. The best part is that Burt’s Bees® products are free of parabens, phthalates, petroleum, SLS and are never tested on animals! Plus the EcoTools® brushes are responsibly made with cruelty free bristles and bamboo handles. You can pick up the EcoTools® (located in the cosmetic accessories section) and Burt’s Bees® products (located in the natural beauty section) in any Walmart stores.
