This year is extra special for me. It’s my very first Mother’s Day as a new Mom and I couldn’t be more thrilled! My journey into Motherhood has been extremely emotional and miraculous at the same time. Becoming a mama after a miscarriage is a wonderful gift and I feel so blessed. I have the most amazing baby girl. Milan is everything to me! On another note, today’s post is a little bit different than usual. My gorgeous Mother-in-law makes a special appearance! 🙂

The two most important women in my life are my Mom and my Mother-in-law. My Mom lives out of state and wasn’t able to make an appearance on this post however I wanted to share what a true inspiration she has been to me. She raised seven kids (I’m the youngest) while working three jobs to support all of us. We came to America with literally the clothes on our backs and somehow she managed to give us a wonderful life. We didn’t have much (materialistically) but I always felt like I had everything I needed and more. One piece of advice she gave me that has carried me through life is that no matter what happens, never ever give up. I’ve applied that to everything I’ve done (personally and in business) and it’s made me who I am today. She is a truly a magnificent woman. I can only hope that I’m half as good of a Mother to Milan as my Mom was to me.

I’m so lucky to have such an amazing Mother-in-law. I’ve always admired her for a number of reasons. First, she has the best sense of humor and we always have the best laughs together. The advice she gave me many years ago that still resonates with me is that God never gives you more than you can handle. This really helped me get through Milan’s surgery and infection recently. When I find myself feeling overwhelmed or stressed, I always try to remember that advice and use it to calm and center myself.

To sum it up, Mom’s are the best. I’m so grateful to have both my Mom and MIL in my life. Plus how lucky am I to be able to experience Motherhood for the first time? Truly magical.
