Best Fall and Winter Coats

The weather is finally starting to cool down and I can finally wear a jacket (sort of).  Hopefully this heat wave is behind us and we can get some fall weather in SoCal.  I’m usually always cold (even when it’s in the 50’s and 60’s).  I have no clue how I ever survived the brutal Minnesota winters.  Obviously my blood has thinned out because I can barely stand it when it’s in the 40’s and 50’s.  I always carry some type of jacket or sweater with me at all times even when it’s sweltering hot.  If you look in my coat closet, it’s a strong possibility that I may be a coat hoarder.  You would never guess I live in a warmer climate state.  I think I have a fear of being cold (lol).  Maybe I’m scarred from my frost bitten toes growing up in the Midwest.

blanknyc-morning-suede-moto-jacketThis is my second BlankNYC jacket and I love it to pieces.  I also have this one and they both run very small which means great news for petite gals!  The quality is AMAZING and worth the price.  This jacket comes in four different colors – burgundy, charcoal, coffee bean and olive juice.  The rich suede material buttery soft and has good weight to it.

Sizing runs small and I would recommend sizing up if you plan on layering.  I’m wearing size XS and it fits me well.  The sleeves are narrow and slightly long (will shorten them eventually).  Some of the reviews say that it’s more of a cropped length but on someone my height (5′ tall), it’s just right.  The belt is also removable in case you want a more streamlined look.  I like the bit of edge it adds.

Even though this post is about outerwear, I wanted to mention (again) how amazing this whisper cotton tee is.  I love it so much that I have it in grey (see HERE), pink and white.  You can layer it under cardigans, blazers and coats.  Even though it’s a basic tee, it’s very versatile.  You can even wear it lounging at home – it’s that comfortable!

If you need to update your fall/winter wardrobe, I recently got this pocket sweater in three colors (olive arrowwood, ivory cloud and burgundy stem) and would highly recommend it.  Comes in both regular and petite sizes and several different colors.  Need some new scarves?  I have this one and just ordered this one – you can never have too many scarves!
