Pumpkins, Stripes and Plaid

We took Milan to buy some pumpkins recently and I couldn’t wait to wear this striped dress!  I don’t think I’ve met a striped dress I didn’t like.  Yes I have a serious stripes addiction.  Anyone else have this problem?  This dress is perfect for fall.  I know it will be on heavy rotation this season.

A cute dress paired with some boots and a scarf is my go-to look.  It’s just the right amount of layers and great for the mild California weather.  I love that I can take off the scarf when it gets too warm (which it did the day I took these photos).  Not going to lie, after looking at all the cute pumpkins and tons of excitement, I was sweating and had to take off my scarf (lol).

This dress is just adorable.  Simple and versatile.  I love the elbow sleeves so much!  It makes your arms look really thin which is always a huge bonus.  The stripes are the perfect size and the color is navy and white not black and white like it says online.  I was really happy about this as I prefer navy stripes over black stripes.  It also comes in THIS COLOR.  The mock neck style adds a a bit of retro 60’s vibe – so cute.

Sizing is a bit tricky.  Usually French Connection sizes run extra small however this dress runs true to size.  I have some old French Connection dresses that are size 0 and they’re very form fitting.  I sized up to a 2 based on the online recommendation however it ended up being pretty loose around my waist and hips.  It still looks great but I’m thinking a size 0 would have fit better.  At least this gives me some additional breathing room and I don’t have to suck in (lol).

The material is a heavier cotton and really nice quality.  I was afraid the length was going to be too short but it’s just right.  It hits me right above the knees and great for petite gals.  On a side note – be extra careful when washing this as it may shrink.  Make sure to wash on cold and dry flat.

I love wearing dresses.  I feel much more comfortable and confident in dresses than jeans or pants.  Strange right?  I don’t know what it is but I’ve always been this way.  There are so many cute dresses I have my eye on. Nordstrom has the best selection of dresses!  Here are my top picks:

I would highly recommend this dress.  It’s one of those items in your closet that you can wear all year round so you know you’re getting your moneys worth out of it.  Wear it to work, dress it up or down – extremely versatile piece.  Plus, you can NEVER go wrong with stripes!

  3. I’m impressed, I have to admit. Genuinely rarely should i encounter a weblog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you may have hit the nail about the head. Your idea is outstanding; the problem is an element that insufficient persons are speaking intelligently about. I am delighted we came across this during my look for something with this.
