Summer is in full swing and I’m loving it! Floral prints have been my weakness lately. I’ve been gravitating towards flowy dresses, tops and skirts to get me through the SoCal heat wave. This bardot maxi dress is just perfect for hot summer days. It’s petite friendly and under $20!
It’s hard to believe that this dress is under $20! I got so many compliments when I wore it. People’s jaw dropped when I mentioned the price. It’s so hard finding affordable maxi dresses that are petite friendly so when I stumble upon one like this, I clearly get very excited. I adore the asymmetrical style – makes it easy to walk in and shows just enough leg but not too much.
Sizing runs on the smaller side and the length is great for petite gals. I’m just under 5′ tall and the lenght is just right. I’m wearing platform wedge sandals but probably could get away with lower heeled sandals. Size small fits me nicely however I do want to point out the waist seam is a little low on me. I have short torso so I folded the seam over making it appear higher to combat this issue. I hope this makes sense. 🙂
The material is thin but not see through. The skirt portion is partially lined so as long as you wear nude undergarments, it’s all good. Quality is decent given the price. I love it and would recommend!
Dress: c/o Bardot asymmetrical floral maxi dress (size small) | Purse: JADEtribe pom pom basket bag | Sandals: Marc Fisher adalyne wedges | Sunglasses: Tory Burch | Bracelet: c/o Kendra Scott station cuff | Strapless bra: Wacoal convertible bra
When I ordered both of these outfits, I didn’t even realize that the dress and two piece short set were the exact same print. Apparently I like this floral print a lot (lol)! I wasn’t expecting this to look decent nor did I expect it to fit. I’m not a huge shorts fan but surprisingly I love it and it fits nicely.
Sizing runs on the smaller side. I’m wearing XS and it fits me perfectly. The waist measures 12″ across and there is no stretch. Inseam measures 3.5″ – not too short and not too long (great for petite gals). The top has a flowy fit and there’s plenty of room on both sides. The material is the exact same as the maxi dress from above. Both the top and shorts are both lined and not see through.
I used to shy away from halter styles because I couldn’t find a decent strapless bra. Why is it so difficult to find a good one? I recently got this one and it actually stays up throughout the day. I love how this look likes a romper but it’s not! The fact that it’s two separate pieces makes it even better because you can mix and match with other items in your closet. I can see the top paired with high waisted skinny jeans for a casual weekend look.
Here are some other items I’m coveting:
