Summer Polka Dot Dress For Under $50

I hope you had a great weekend!  We spent Mother’s Day at the beach and Milan did really well with her skin – barely any scratching!  Yay!  It’s always a great day when she has a bit of relief.  #EczemaSucks

On another note, it’s my duty to share any and all polka dot things with you and this dress…you need in your life.  So flipping cute and only $45 with free shipping!

I know I probably say I’m obsessed with so many things but this dress is hands down the prettiest dress I’ve purchased recently.  I can’t believe the price!  It’s petite friendly and just perfect in every way.  Sizing runs true to size even though it says it runs small online.  I still had plenty of room after tying it as tight as possible.  BP. is a junior brand so I guess sizing does tend to be cut smaller.  I would recommend ordering your usual size.  I’m wearing size XXS and it fits me well with some room left in the waist and hips.

Don’t you love the color?  I have a lot of navy and white and black and white polka dots but this color is so pretty!  It’s more of a mauve-pinkish hue rather than a rust in my opinion.  I love it!  The length hits me slightly above the knees.  Such a cute dress for summer and you can throw a cardigan over it when it gets chilly in the evenings.

You’re probably wondering what type of bra do you wear with this and *sigh*…I know I hate wearing a strapless bra however it’s just necessary sometimes!  I’m wearing this convertible strapless bra or you can opt for something with adhesives like this seamless Nubra.

I can see this being a dress you can bring on vacation (doesn’t wrinkle) and wear to the beach for those hot Summer days you don’t feel like putting on a bathing suit. It’s very forgiving and conceals any problem areas or food babies. 🙂

  1. Love that polka dot dress!! Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I totally agree that eczema sucks. Ugh, I still have them.

  2. Hi Annie, you look so pretty, as always, may I ask what size bra you wear? I tried this dress, is so cute, the style and the color, but it didn’t fit well on my, I’m petite, but I’m big chested and I’m not sure but I think I’m heavier overall on the top, the dress didn’t close well and it left too much skin exposed, lol, I was so sad, I really liked the dress and how it looks on the model and on you, but not a good fit for me, sadly. 🙁

    • Hi Loren! My cup size has been all over the board due to breastfeeding. LOL I was a 30C before and then jumped to a 30D and now I have no idea what I will be after I’m done nursing. I’m definitely shrinking 🙁

  3. On the same note, what bra do you wear? I need to buy a new strapless bra and wondered if you had suggestions. (I’m a 32 DD.)

  4. Here’s the recipe for my eczema cream. This has been nothing less than a miracle for my daughter. Hope it works for your baby girl – let me know!

1 16oz container of Cetaphil normal gentle skin cleanser
1 60g tube of desoximetasone steroid cream (0.25%)

Empty both in a pot on stove and heat over low heat, stirring until both are combined.

Let cool and pour back into Cetaphil container.

I used this daily on my daughter as a lotion and saw her severe (as in crusty and bloody) eczema disappear in under 2 weeks, after which point I use on her a couple times a week as needed. Cetaphil cleanser doesn’t actually need to be rinsed so it’s safe to leave on the skin! Don’t try to make it absorb completely but leave a thin layer on the skin.

My daughter’s eczema is so severe that it will come back (and she’ll start scratching again) if I stop using the lotion completely (or when I run out of it!) so we continue to use it throughout the year, alternating with other regular lotion.

This has been a life saver for us and I’m happy to share with someone as desperate as I was a year and a half ago.

    • I just saw this Cathy! Thank you so much! Unfortunately we are going the natural route – no steriods or medication and my husband doesn’t approve of the ingredients in Cetaphil 🙁 But I so appreciate you taking the time to post this for me!
