What I Eat In a Day + How I Maintain My Figure

One of the most requested topics lately is what I eat in a day.  Honestly, I don’t eat anything special but try to make good choices.

First and foremost, I NEVER deprive myself.  I’m not on any special diets.  It’s more of a lifestyle choice.  I try to eat as healthy as possible however it doesn’t always happen and that is ok.  I try not to put so much pressure on myself and I think that is a huge part of why it’s much easier to maintain my figure.

I don’t currently work out (cue the eye rolls).  I recently started doing yoga and fully intend on doing more cardio just to keep my heart and body strong.  Once Milan goes to preschool, it’ll give me a lot more time to fit this in.  I personally believe that what you eat is more important than anything.  Besides yoga, I walk a lot and chasing Milan is seriously a work out.  This girl has a ton of energy.  I can barely keep up these days.  Exhausted! lol

Breakfast

16 oz. of celery juice (on an empty stomach – before I eat or drink anything), 2 egg whites (boiled or scrambled) + banana or blueberries

I always have a bunch of boiled eggs ready to go in the fridge.  It’s a great way to get quick protein since I don’t eat a lot of meat. Anytime I want a snack, I will try to eat an apple, banana or whatever is currently in season.  I also love organic popped popcorn and will indulge in Trader Joe’s organic truffle chips (lol).

Lunch

Spring mix salad (I get mine at Whole Foods) + 1 avocado +  1/2 chicken breast + grape tomatoes + 1 fuji apple (use olive olive as dressing)

I always eat a salad for lunch.  Every single day.  I love it.  This doesn’t sound like much food but OMG it fills you up!

Dinner

Mahi mahi/salmon/chicken breast, asparagus sautéed in extra virgin coconut oil, side of sliced cucumbers or red bell peppers.

I think the key is to not let yourself go too hungry.  I find that when I get too busy and go hours without eating, I end up making awful choices.  It’s better to eat 6 small meals throughout the day.  This will help keep your blood sugar levels in check.  You won’t end up binging on junk.  Look, I’m certainly no expert but this is what works for me. 🙂

  4. Hi Annie! Love your blog! How do you keep disciplined? I feel I’m always snacking out of stress or lack of time!

  5. You’re on point with your food choices. I’m on my way to be a dietitian and we tell people eating 6 small meals a day helps with maintaining your blood sugar or 3 meals and snacks between is great too. I always eat fruit when I’m hungry and it fills me up. What works for you is a similar plan we try to teach people in healthy eating. You’re doing amazing as usual girl!!
