Restoration Hardware Dining Room For Less

I’ve gotten so many questions about my dining room table and chairs so here is my review!

I can’t tell you how nice it is to have a real dining room table and chairs.  It was the first purchase I made for Milan and I.  For the past year, we had no furniture in our rental home.  If you’re new to the blog, we were building a custom house for a year and I was only supposed to be in the rental property for only six months.  Six months turned into a year when I had to cancel construction on my dream home due to some personal circumstances that were beyond my control. *SIGH*

I worked with Restoration Hardware for many months on the design and furnishings of the previous home but wasn’t in the position to spend that much on this current home.  I wanted a similar look without having to spend an arm and a leg.

I found this Lark Manor Gertrude solid wood dining room table which is a way less expensive (and currently 52% off) than the Restoration Hardware table.  The table is very large so make sure you make proper measurements before purchasing.  I have a pretty open dining room area so luckily it fits (lol).  The table measures: 94.5” L x 39.4” W x 30.7” H.

The color ‘DESERT GRAY’ color is pretty close to the color shown online – especially the close up shot of the wood.  I’m pointing this out because sometimes online stock photos can be very deceiving.  It was the exact color I was hoping for.  The table has a rustic vibe but still classic. The material of the base and top is made out of solid reclaimed pine wood.

I also want to add that it does come with wood knots and worm holes (done on purpose).  If you have OCD or like things to be perfect, this is not the table for you.  Everything is done very tastefully and it’s subtle enough that it looks very good.

I found these Kosinski Upolstered dining room chairs to go with my table and I think they look great!  I ordered six of them which ended up to be pretty expensive.  I’m happy with how they look so it’s worth it to me.  The only issue I could find is that some of the chairs are wobbly.  I need to figure out how to resolve this problem.  Other than that, I love the way they look and the color of the legs goes perfectly withy the table.  I’m a little concerned with the light beige color with Milan but we’ll see how long I can keep them clean. LOL

So that is that and I’m happy with my dining room selection!  I have yet to furnish the rest of the house.  Milan’s room is completely done which I will review her big girl bed, organic mattress and bedding soon!

  1. Chair levelling pads! Easy way to adjust chairs to make the level and add felt glides to protect your floors. You can find them through amazon.

  2. For the uneven chairs, it depends how much the balance is off. If a leg is a tiny bit too long, you could sand it. For the short ones, you can try the little pads that stick on to prevent scratching floors. They’re sold everywhere. The dot of rubber or felt should be enough to steady the chairs.

  3. High-quality furniture and good lighting are a very good way to make your home much more comfortable. Get a professional electrician to figure out how to get the best out of your lighting.

  4. Good ideas! I like furniture that can be a serious accent in a room, draw attention and make the room feel better. I also think that you just need to find a suitable store where you can make good purchases for your home.
