How To Organize Kids Toys On A Budget

I finally organized Meadow and Milan’s playroom!  Feels so good.

I thought Milan had a lot of toys but then after having Meadow, toys have taken over our lives.  We recently culled through and donated a bunch of items and I told Milan whatever she can fit into these storage bins, she can keep.  Well, shockingly, these bins actually fit a lot more than I thought so I guess the joke is on me! Haha

I’ve been looking around for toy chest or toy cabinet…something that would be able to conceal all the mess but also make it easy for the girls to be able to find what they want.

I was so so happy to have stumbled up on this 8 cube organizer and these storage bins that fit perfectly at Walmart.  I love how neutral it is and you can’t beat the price.  Walmart has such an amazing home decor section.  I couldn’t believe how many things I found that I love.

You can opt to have it standing vertical or lay it on it’s side like how I have it. (Just remember to anchor it to the wall to avoid it from tipping.)

It’s also a great way to use the bottom half as storage and the top to display current toys and rotate them out every month.  This way, they don’t get bored and it feels like Christmas when they see toys they haven’t seen in awhile.

Such a simple yet effective not to mention affordable way to organize your kids toys.  It’s so nice to walk into their play area and not have toys everywhere.  I can also tell that the Milan and Meadow don’t get as easily distracted or overwhelmed when everything is organized.  We’ve also incorporated clean up as part of our routine which has helped my sanity.  🙂
