I keep asking myself how on earth Miss Meadow Ivy is two years old?! Where did the last two years go? I blinked and she is growing so fast. It honestly feels like yesterday I was announcing that I was pregnant with her. Now here she is running around like crazy and climbing on everything. I can barely keep up with her. My little NICU baby. She may be petite but she is a fighter – just like her mommy! 🙂
I know I may be biased but she is the sweetest little peanut. She has the funniest personality and this girl is so incredibly smart. She does everything I ask including putting away her dirty clothes in her hamper. She amazes me every single day and I LOVE being with her. I freak out when I have to leave her even for an hour. To say I’m obsessed is an understatement. She eats everything I give her and it makes feeding her very easy. Her laugh is contagious and she’s already a little comedian. She sleeps 11-12 hours a night and nurses like a champ. Meadow looks up to her big sissy Milan and is constantly following her around. They play well together and it’s such a joy to witness. I honestly do not know what I would do without her. She completed our little family and made my heart whole.
I am so thrilled with how everything turned out for her birthday party. I’m really glad I decided on the butterfly theme. It’s so perfect for her. The past month has been very challenging for me so the fact that I was able to pull all this off is truly a miracle. I haven’t been in the right head space but our mini trip to NYC was a really good mental break for me (even though I’m exhausted). I stayed up until 3 am the other night blowing up all the balloons and hanging the balloon garland. I didn’t have fishing wire to tie the garland to the arch but found some jinky leftover rope that my husband had laying around. I can’t figure out how to use the stupid tool to tie balloons with so I have blisters all over my hands from doing it manually but it was completely worth it. This is only my second time doing a balloon garland on my own and I definitely made a few mistakes. One thing I would highly recommend (if you love doing balloon garlands) is this balloon arch stand. It seriously is AMAZING and super easy to install. Worth every penny. I will use it for every single birthday! FYI – it’s HUGE so make sure you have the space for it. Luckily it breaks down so you can store it. The entire balloon garland plus stand costs me $105 total compared to $500+ through a balloon company. The actual balloon kit was only $17! The stand ($88) will pay for itself because I will use it twice a year for both of my girls until I die or it breaks. LOL
Her birthday cake turned out AMAZING. Way better than I had anticipated and it’s from Walmart! Can you even believe how gorgeous it is? I’ve been getting custom cakes from Walmart for the past few years and WOW. So impressed. I added the butterflies to it afterwards and had the cake decorator change top tier to a blush pink (originally beige). It was so gorgeous that I didn’t even want to cut it or eat it! 🙂
