Long overdue but here is a recap of our Minnesota trip from July!

It’s been over three years since I’ve been back to Minnesota.  I got pregnant in 2019 and Covid happened so it’s a very long time since I’ve been home to see my family.  The timing wasn’t the best since there were some family members that live out of state and couldn’t make it.  This was very last minute and trying to coordinate everyone’s schedules was super tough.  Luckily we made it work and I am SO thrilled that we went home.  No one has met Meadow yet (from either side) and she’s already 2 years old. 🙁  It was extremely important to me that my family meet her and also see Milan again.

My family is far from perfect but there is so much love, respect and acceptance that I wouldn’t trade it for the world.  They absolutely adore Mr. Right and have welcomed him with open arms since 2019.  They treat him with so much love and respect which I am so grateful for.  They leave my past in the past and love seeing how happy I am.  Divorce is always so hard on families – especially when you were with someone in your previous life for almost 2 decades.  Accepting someone’s new partner or spouse and respecting boundaries is important and very necessary.  I’m super thankful my family has always been supportive of our relationship and now marriage.

I have the most amazing Mom and seeing her meet Meadow for the first time and bonding with Milan warmed my heart.  I was able to spend time with my nieces and nephews and the girls had so many cousins to play with.  Kind of makes me want to move back but then I remember how cold the winters are. Haha

Watching my daughters be surrounded with so much love and laughter made my heart full.  Seeing my 3 older sisters made me miss home even more.  There is no greater bond than a bond between sisters.  They are all such amazing women and I am so lucky to have all of them.

We made so many amazing memories this year and looking back at this post from 2017 just blows my mind.  We stayed at Hotel Landing (my 2nd time) and loved it.  It was almost surreal being back given how different my life is now.  Milan was only 1.5 years old or so when we last stayed there.  Crazy to think she’s a big sister now and going into 1st grade!

I’m hoping to have a family reunion with all my family members next Summer.  It’s so important to me that Milan and Meadow get to know their grandparents and Aunties/Uncles and cousins.  Family is everything to me and I want them to grow up with as many great memories as possible. 🙂

  1. Fun memories. So glad you had a great visit with your family. I always had a great time when out of state aunts, uncles and cousins came to visit.

  2. I am so glad you had fantastic vacation in Minnesota to see your mom, your sisters, your nieces, your nephews and all of your family members!! This a beautiful opportunity for your daughters to get to know all of their cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents from both sides (yours and your husband’s family)of their family!! I grew up with my cousins living in the same home town!! It was an awesome way of growing up for me and my siblings!!!
We are all close with our cousins still!

  3. Extrêmement déçu car les photos ne sont en fait pas imprimées sur un papier photo mais sur du papier standard au grammaire un peu plus élevé. Rendu à peine meilleur que sur une imprimante de la maison.
