All I can say is WOW.  Portugal is such an beautiful place and definitely in my top 3 favorite destinations!  We originally planned to go to Croatia but due to weather, we cancelled at the last minute and changed our itinerary to Lisbon and Carvoeiro Portugal.  My husband had a business trip in London so Meadow and I tagged along.  We are hoping to bring both kiddos next time.

We stayed at Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort.  It’s about 2.5 hours from Lisbon and absolutely worth the drive (we took a private car).  We stayed in Lisbon for 2 days and the city is amazing. I wish we had more time because on the last day I randomly went into Zara and scored this gorgeous camel coat for 1/2 of what it costs in the states.

As much as I loved the city of Lisbon,  Carvoeiro is where my heart belongs.  The resort was AMAZING and our suite was absolutely perfect.  We had two balconies overlooking the ocean and plenty of space for all of us.  I was so impressed with the service and trust me, I am not easily impressed.  The hotel staff thought of literally everything to make our stay a pleasant one.  Meadow had a beautiful wooden crib ready for her and they even thought to put in a little portable tub in the bathroom.  It’s such a simple gesture but it was so helpful and much appreciated.  It’s always the small things that always make a difference especially being a mom and traveling with a two year old!

The grounds of the hotel were so gorgeous.  Everywhere you looked, there were spectacular views.  The sky bar at the very top of the hotel was our favorite spot.  You could sit and sip on cocktails while watching the sunset.  They even provided blankets.  The views were unbelievable!

The hotel was only a short 10 min walk to the town center where there was plenty of shops, restaurants and a boardwalk that I would highly recommend doing.  We also did a boat cave tour which was unreal!  The photos don’t really capture the true beauty or experience.  Meadow was so relaxed that she fell asleep on the boat! lol

The food at the resort was really good but we wanted to try out some restaurants in the town center.  The breakfast buffet each morning at the hotel was pretty impressive and had so many options (even for kids).  If you get lucky and get a table with a view, it makes breakfast that much better.

Overall, we had the best time and I cannot wait to go back.  I would highly recommend staying at Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort.  Honestly, there are no words to describe how beautiful it was.  Next stop was London which I’ll talk about soon! XO
