I’m not sure if anyone has noticed but I have been trying to build the more “casual” side of my closet. I have great pieces for work (thanks to blogging) but on my off days, as I am getting ready to go out with hubby for the day, I find myself sitting and staring aimlessly into the racks of my closet. I mumble to myself, “I have nothing to wear….I have no casual clothes.” And then I find myself stomping my foot like a kid and end up pouting because I can’t come up with a casual outfit.
This H & M skirt is only $12.95 and comes in all kinds of colors. I chose pink (of course) and I loved that it had speckles of navy and light blue flowers. It’s a tiny bit sheer but opaque enough that if you wear nude panties, you should be fine.
The entire outfit (minus accessories) was only $53. Here is everything broken down: Blazer $34.95 + Tee $5.95 + Skirt $12.95 = $53 (Okay, so I rounded down few bucks for the sake of the title.)
Please excuse the gold sandals, this will explain why I am on a crazy search for the summer sandals! I seriously have none! I would have loved to pair this outfit with some camel/brown sandals.
You can recreate this outfit ALL from Forever 21: (click on each photo)
Or you can just take any floral skirt and solid blazer with a plain tee as well. This is such an easy and comfortable outfit to wear on the weekends. Plus if I get hot, I can take the blazer off and just wear a the plain tee.
Are you into the floral print?
And this outfit (ideally) tend to illustrate a certain (and so efficient) "Cheap BUT (Urban) CHIC" idea Dear !!!! "Micro Pin up-icious Exquisiteness in motion" . . .

this is great! i like how the skirt flares out a bit from the fitted blazer. lovely and thanks for recreating it for us!
I can wear your "casual" outfit to work and call it semi-formal for sure (as you may be able to figure out, my workplace is super duper casual). I love the skirt and the prices of everything.
I gotta buy that blazer! Soo cute!
I'm definitely into floral prints, especially for the warmer seasons! I know what you meant with the sheer-ness of the skirt. That's the only thing that's keeping me away from purchasing it. But I love the prints and the length is quite modest yet flirty 🙂
I gotta say, that blazer is a total score!! 😀

Annie, you are the picture-perfect definition of "beautiful," and these pictures prove the point. The skirt and blazer go beautifully together, and a chic Chanel bag doesn't hurt either. 🙂 I have no problem with these sandals with this outfit. You're certainly a petite princess who rules like a queen with style.
And yes- I dig the floral prints.

So freakin cute Annie! I love this outfit! I just got an Old Navy outfit for under $50 – I'll have to post about it sometime 🙂
Thank you for the inspiration — now I am off to check out H&M for that awesome skirt/blazer combo!
Have you checked out any of the sandals options on emyloo shoes? I got some recently and really like mine.
The skirt link you gave seems to be a different skirt than the one you are wearing. Is that right? I'm not sure about the length of the other one; it looks a little short (although it might not be on me).
this is an adorable outfit! love it, might have to look at that skirt… oh wait, i forgot i cant 🙁
Easy Petite Looks
lovely outfit! At most places i've worked at, this outfit would be more than ok to wear. lol sometimes I dress a bit more business-like and ppl look at me weird @ work, sigh…American workplaces are too casual!
Cheap… NOT
chic…. YES 🙂
You look adorable and that bag…. *SIGH*!
I love this! And I also feel like I don't have a lot of casual clothes, so I know what you mean. This is perfect though!
Come take a look inside A Working Mom's Closet
What a great look for the price point, looks so much more expensive! You look awesome!
I love floral print! You look amazing in that outfit. I love the flowy skirt with the blazer. That would def. be a good work outfit as well if the environment is casual. Cute cute outfit!
very cute indeed!

I've gotten into florals in the last year or so…that skirt is great! I love stuff like that now…it's unique and it hits you at just the right spot above the knee. I wonder if it comes in orange or yellow =D
I also like how you accessorized this outfit, very cute!
LOL @ stomping around like a little kid, hahaha. Too cute, Annie 🙂 This outfit is great — casual but still yet put together. So you!
I love it Annie………and for $50.00?!! You always get the best deals 😉
I just saw this skirt @ H&M the other day and now I'm kicking myself for not trying it on – so cute on you!!

@Stilettostetico Thank you very much! 🙂
@Angie I typically don't like flared skirts but for casual wear, I think it's the most comfortable! 🙂

@April I'm sure it's still avail April. I have the orange/red and the navy and the fit is so nice!

@John B. Marine Thank you! You always have very nice things to say- and its much appreciated!
@Erin Looking forward to seeing the ON outfit! Post please! And let me know if you find these items- hope you score!
@Diana I haven't…but I will:) The skirt link is something similar since H & M doesn't sell online yet but hopefully soon!
@purses and puppies Are you on a shopping ban?
@ShinyPrettyThings I'd rather be over dressed than under dressed for work. People dress casually all the time in my business and I am always in business attire. Dress for success!
@newpetite LOL thank you so much!
@Melissa I'm just starting to like casual clothes more and more…it gives me a chance to be a little more risky when it comes to prints/colors:)
@Tara Thanks Tara- ur so sweet:)
@Erica I agree! I prob could get away with this on casual Fridays but I would feel a bit too casual:)
@Carrie Thanks Carrie!
@Jackie Hi Jackie! This skirt comes in a variety of colors- sorry I don't remember but there were all kinds…I just was drawn to the pink (of course)…LOL
@Cee LOL I really do Cee..it's hilarious. Hubby laughs at me. It is totally me huh? hehehe Thanks Cee!
@Callandra Awe thanks Callandra! I can't take credit for these deals- it's H & M…LOL
@Kimberly You should go back and get it! It's super comfortable and you can wear it with so many tops!
So cute!! I love floral print and also love that you're exploring casual clothes – gives me more shopping inspiration 🙂
The image of you stomping your foot made me giggle LOL.
I love floral prints and it's the only thing I seem to be buying lately! even bags AND shoes!
Superb look – you always get the best for less! I really love the light on you in these photos.
Love it! Primarly because I own the skirt in blue and the blazer in white with blue stripes! 😉 love how you put them together. See? I told you we should shop together 🙂
So cute! The navy blazer compliments your outfit so nicely : )
Wow, what a good deal. LOVE the jacket. I have to go to H&M now. You look great, as usual 🙂
This is a really cute outfit! Love the skirt, especially.
Annie you look amazing! I love that skirt on you 🙂
So cute!!!!

I really like this outfit and the navy blazer is lovely! I also love the ann taylor shoes in your prior posting! I am going after work tonight to check out their semi-annual sale! http://www.bravoerunway.com
The skirt is really cute! Love how you paired it with the blazer 🙂 I love the dresses and skirts at H&M and how affordable they are, but I hate how sheer everything is. They could at least line the insides of all the skirts and dresses :/

Very descriptive blog, I liked that bit. Will there be a

I used to be able to find good advice from your blog posts.
I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and
was curious what all is needed to get setup? I’m assuming having
a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web smart so I’m not
100% positive. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but
I find this topic to be really something which I think
I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
