Let me kick off by admitting something rather surprising: I’m not exactly a Disneyland enthusiast, or any theme park for that matter. Yes, it’s a bit unconventional, especially considering I have kids. Unlike many, I wasn’t brought up with an affinity for these attractions, and honestly, the hefty price tags, endless queues, and general exhaustion just don’t do it for me.
But, as the parent of two lovely girls, I find myself making the pilgrimage to these magical lands for their sake. After spending the past year planning our trip to Disney World, I’ve gathered some insights on what to do and, perhaps more importantly, what not to do. Through trial and error, I’ve picked up valuable lessons, and I’m hopeful that this guide will be a beacon for any moms out there feeling overwhelmed by the daunting task of planning and coordinating such an adventure.
Now, let me preface this by saying that I’m hardly an expert, but with the memories of our trip still fresh in my mind, I hope that sharing my experiences can prevent at least one person from repeating the same blunders I made.

10. Pack Wisely: Bring Only the Essentials
Streamline your packing by including only the essentials. Remember, everything you bring, you’ll have to carry. Consider items like your phone, camera, autograph book, water, and sunscreen for a more efficient and lighter Disney World adventure.
Milan and Meadow just can’t stop reminiscing about our recent journey. Our stay at The Floridan Hotel was absolutely breathtaking. It stands out as one of the most exquisite hotels I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting, reminiscent of the charm of Hotel Del Coronado. Before I met my husband, I confess, I wasn’t particularly fond of hotels. There was something about sleeping in my own bed that I found comforting. However, as time went on and we began to explore the world, I realized the magic of experiencing new places outweighed the familiarity of home. While hotels still don’t hold the same allure for me, our extensive travels have certainly helped me adjust to life on the road.
The kids and I are all in agreement—we wouldn’t mind making The Floridan our permanent residence! Our suite was nothing short of spectacular, offering ample space and tasteful decor. Opting for the 2-bedroom suite with a cozy living room was the perfect choice for our family. You can catch a glimpse of our accommodations here.
Though uncertain when we’ll have the opportunity to return, our Christmas spent at The Floridan will forever be etched in our memories. Initially unsure of what to expect, I found myself thoroughly enjoying every moment, creating countless cherished memories with my daughters. Ultimately, that was my goal, and I believe we’ve succeeded in crafting a trip they’ll never forget.
