I hardly ever go to the outlet stores but they were miraculously open on Easter so I decided to pop in and check out the sales. I have never been to the BR or Theory outlets before and both were having mega sales this past weekend. I only found a few items…here is a Banana Republic belted sheath dress and a Theory Edyna Blazer…..

I was pretty excited to find these two items!!! Both fit PERFECTLY with no alterations needed!!! YAY! The Theory Edyna Blazer was a great find. I was bummed that there was no matching skirt or pants because I typically like to buy suits as a whole but I had no other choice and I squealed when I found a 00 and got an extra 25% off! I couldn’t find any other good deals or any 00’s left but I was happy with this score. The sleeves are the right length which saves me on tailoring costs- I’m sold!

1. Ann Taylor Dress – this I know is petite friendly- I tried it on and looks really nice
2. BCBGeneration Sheath Dress – I have several BCBGeneration dresses in XS and they fit quite nicely and this is on major sale
Blazers:
1. Bebe Linen Blazer – this is oh so cute and the cut is very nice
2. Ann Taylor Blazer – comes in 00p and 0p
Banana Republic Outlet….it was very interesting to say the least! I realized that the quality and sizes of Banana Republic factory stores is not the same as the normal BR stores! I tried on numerous suits and skirts and I was shocked that the quality was not up to par and the 00p skirts DID NOT fit like they should! They were HUGE on me…at first- I thought maybe I was hungry and hadn’t eaten all day but that can’t be!! The blazers I found in 00p felt so cheap and thin! I did manage to find one really nice boat neck navy blue sweater in PXS and a blue and white tweed skirt in 00p that was so cheap, I could hardly pass it up. The waist is still a bit too big but it matched my new sweater for a complete ensemble so I was quite jazzed!
This belted sheath dress in 00p was a major score and with an extra 40% off, I couldn’t resist. The belt detail is so cute and adds dimension to the dress which I really like and makes your waist appear even smaller. The material is very nice and the arm holes were perfect. The length hits right at the knee so it’s very professional and a good length for work. I like that I can wear this dress alone or with a blazer– depending on the weather. I just love a simple black sheath dress- very elegant and timeless.

So what I learned from my outlet trip is be very careful at the BR factory stores! I had no idea that the material and sizes were going to be any different but they really are in my opinion. There are still some stuff that are high quality and fit nicely but you really have to try it on and touch the fabric.
The Theory outlet is not all that much cheaper unless they are having a major sale and there are extra discounts and there were hardly any 00’s left! Bummer!
I've had lots of bad luck at the outlets. The quality of items is really sub-par. I wrote a post about it a while back: http://meinmillions.blogspot.com/2009/09/outlet-shopping-really-good-deal.html. I think I really need to try Theory, I don't have any of their clothes yet!

The shift dress fits you perfectly! I have absolutely no energy to go into the BR outlet on sale weekends…it's a mess! And I think I own the same exact jacket from my last trip to the Theory outlet. I'll have to check the tag though.

@Petite Asian Girl- yes the BR outlet sales on the weekend was insane!!! The 80 follower giveaway changed to 100 because I got some good advice from some veteran bloggers that told me it makes more sense to wait until 100 followers to do my first one 🙂
Gosh, you did really well. Dont you feel good when you buy something and it doesnt have to be altered! We dont have outlet stores here in Canada (I'm Australian working briefly in Canada) but I've travelled across the border occasionally – so agree with your comments about the outlets.

@PetiteXXS- the dress doesn't have stretch to it- it actually fits looser than my other sheath dresses but all in all – I liked the fit 🙂 I wonder which sheath you got at BR that needs alterations…usually all the 00p dresses fit me pretty well there
@Miss K. You- have you tried Bebe 00 pants? Or how about Banana Republic 00p?? Both fit in the waist and hips for me but I always have to tailor the hem but that's normal for us petites 🙂
