Besides jeans and pants, jackets falls in that category of almost impossible. I have been on the hunt for a leather moto jacket but nothing seems to be just right. Every jacket I try on, the sleeves are way too long. On Black Friday weekend, Bebe had their sale so I decided to pull the trigger. This jacket was not supposed to have an additonal 25% off because it was already marked down to $119 but for some reason when I added to my cart, it took 25% off so I felt like I hit the freaking jackpot!!! Total with tax came to $89. Not bad for real leather right?
Ever since hubby and I honeymooned in Italy for 3 weeks about 2 years ago, we have fallen in love with the Italian lifestyle and everything Italian! Hubby got rid of his motorcycle years ago and since we have been married and I don’t want to be a widow, I won’t allow another motorcycle but did allow him to get a scooter. It’s not a tiny scooter- it’s freeway legal but we only take on local streets. So I have been on the hunt for a cute jacket to wear when we go scootin’! Yes I am a dork!!!

So it looks like this jacket sort of fits right? Well this is with the sleeves rolled up about 5″!
Hubby still thinks even if the sleeves are hemmed, the rest of the jacket still is too big…I think it fits…what do you guys think?
I love the color and the leather is like butter leather! So soft and supple!!! The only negative thing is that the bottom has parts of elastic band…I wish it didn’t have that.
Don’t laugh but these are my newFendi sunglasses I got on Black Friday weekend. Hubby was determined to get them for me- not sure why. I think they are silly!
He loved the khaki color and said it looked nice with my LV…oh hubby!! Still undecided on these Fendi sunnie’s!
I am officially obsessed with these GAP legging jeans! I have worn them almost every weekend! I found some H & M adult super squin jeans for $10 which fit even better than these! FYI- the smallest adult H & M jeans they carry are 24’s and they are HUGE. These are super squin’s so they are way cut much smaller. The waist measures a little under 12″ laying flat! I have to get the bottoms taken up but I was shocked! I measured and they are as small as my H & M girls jeans!
I love the style of this jacket. I am really picky about moto jackets. They have to be just the right style otherwise it’s just too hard core for me. This has just the right amount of zippers and detailing. I think I am talking myself into keeping this jacket! LOL
So here it is with the real length of the sleeves! Is that insane or what? Who is this petite with arms that long? I would love to meet her! LOL So I can get rid of the sleeve zipper and just hem it past that. I don’t care for the sleeve zippers.
My tailor says it will cost between $30-40 to take up the sleeves because it’s leather! OUCH. But then it would bring the total to $129 worse case. Not bad for leather right?
What do I do? I have scoured the internet and stores and no cute moto jackets that are real leather that even come close to $89! Keep and alter sleeves? Or return and cut my losses? This jacket is completely sold out online…what do I do??? HELP!
I think the fit is great on you except the sleeves are too long (obviously!). I don't have any experiences with altering a leather jacket nor how much it would cost to do so. I guess you have to take it to your tailor and ask for a quote. If the cost is reasonable, I'll say keep it and have the sleeves alter. I have a feeling that it would cost quite a bit since it is real leather.
You look GREAT! I really love the color and your heels! I also like the pink and gray look! OMG I so have to buy those jeggings now. LOL! I convinced myself I own too many jeans. True, I do, BUT I don't own jeggings and these look fantastic on you! 🙂
It looks just a little bulky. Do the shoulders end where they're supposed to? I can't really tell. It's gonna be so expensive to alter! I had to pay $55 to replace one of my leather sleeves last month…but I guess just altering the length would be a different story.

I love the color of this jacket! The fit across your shoulders looks really close and the length through the torso is perfect for sure. The only problem I see besides the obvious sleeve length is the zipper across the bust area. It looks great open but when it's zippered it almost creates a kind of uniboob. I think it's just because it zippers up, other than that, the details on this jacket are great, I love soft buttery leather and what a great price!

Hahaha 🙂 I am usually ok with the sleeves of regular sized cloths (maybe just slightly too long), while petite items are in most cases too short for me in the sleeves. I think the jacket looks good on you, nice color and fit. Though, I am not a big fan of that asymmetric zipper and pockets, I have to admit. But maybe that's just me, I generally don't like asymmetric designs. But it's possible that this is what creates the uniboob effect that Callandra mentioned. But other than that (and of course with the sleeves hemmed) the jacket looks good. The color is definitely gorgeous. Also, to me the elastic bottom looks great because it helps to make the jacket look slimmer.

I think the jacket looks pretty good, though when it's zipped it does look a bulky across the front. Also keep in mind when trying to decide to keep this, leather jackets do stretch out (I have friends that have worked in a leather goods store for years). This may stretch out a heck of a lot more than you'd like.
I think I see what you're husband's talking about. In the last group of photos the jacket doesn't look AS fitted, but I still think it fits you nicely. The banded bottom that you didn't like helps to give your waist definition. I vote for keep! $100+ for a real leather jacket isn't bad at all. Plus the color is sooo gorgeous. Love gray!

I love that it's finally cold enough to wear scarves. They are my favorite winter accessory! I am hoping Santa will bring me a plain black scarf this year. 😉
@SewPetiteGal OMG there is NO comparison! I think if the AT ones fit me properly, they would be more comfortable than ALDO's for sure. But the Cole Haan's are hands down the most comfortable!

Hi Annie, sorry for commenting so late. I was sleeping on it. 🙂 It's a really hard call. The price is sure attractive. The color and the quality of the leather, pretty good. The sleeve length, obviously too long, but for $40 you can get it hemmed, not a big deal, given the fact that you got the jacket at such a ridiculous low price. Yet something about the jacket doesn't look right. It looks bulky, and the front zipper is at absolutely the wrong place when you zip up. So I'm not sure if it's just the sleeve length that's wrong on this jacket, I think it's more. Oh well, can't beat the price though. 🙂
Since you're not going to wear it zipped up, then it looks fine. I know it's been hard trying to find a moto jacket and I know you've been looking, but I feel there are better ones out there. The zippers on the shoulders might add to the "bulky" effect. I think there's a better placement for those zippers. Also, the decision was hard to make b/c the scarf was in the way and again, added to the "bulkiness" from the chest up. It wasn't until the last 2 pictures could I judge the true fit of this jacket. I say you keep it for now. Continue scouting for other moto jackets and if after several more attempts, you don't find a better fit, you should then get the sleeves alter. (I actually like the zippers on the sleeves.)

I agree with Callandra. Aside from the sleeve length, I think the bust area is too big for you. My vote would be to keep looking because I think the alterations would be a bit too costly. Have you tried looking at Express for a moto jacket?
