***The winner of the Menuet Designs Flower and Pearl Necklace is SewPetiteGal! Congratulations! Please contact me with your info so I can pass along to Menuet Designs. Don’t worry if you didn’t win, enter my current December LOFT giveaway HERE!****
After many failed attempts at pants, I literally own 2 pairs in my wardrobe. Those two are not being worn because of how they fit even after alterations. I don’t know why my body is not built for pants! I keep thinking, there must be something wrong with me. Like my pursuit for jeans, I may have found my match. By the way, I added a few new items to my blog sale HERE. So check it out. I am willing to ship internationally for my loyal readers 🙂
Top: LOFT V-Neck Draped Bow Shell- size XXSP (have one for sale in my blog sale)
I have never been into the cuffed ankle pants look but I really like these! They are definitely different and “OUTSIDE” my box!
Click to see the diff ways I styled these pants and the Scuba Lean Trousers!
After seeing AlterationsNeeded and her LOFT purple felt flower pin, I somehow lucked out and found this grey one and a cream one on Ebay! The grey one was brand new with the tags and got for $6. Now I can retire my other pins. Also got 2 J.CREW Cuts Flower pins which will be making an appearance soon:)
Here it is with the necklace that is also included in my December LOFT giveaway. I love it so much! Grey pearls with inserts of ribbon? How can you not love it? It goes with everything!
Here is this outfit with a different necklace. My latest LOFT log gemstone necklace. I think different accessories can change an outfit.
So the waist laying flat measures 13″ so there is a small gap in the back of the waist. See the first picture, the length is 26″ (the way it came). The 2nd and 3rd pic is me cuffing the bottom ONE more time which then leaves the inseam to 24″. Not that big of a deal and I can cover it with a belt. No more waist gap with belt. Here is also a shot of the back- not my best butt look but wanted to show you how it looks.
Here is this outfit with no necklace and LOFT v-neck long lean cardigan.
And then VOILA- a totally different look with it belted. Uh oh- I hope my Petite Secret Santa isn’t going to be mad at me, I had to get this belt- never seen an Ann Taylor belt in XS and it was dirt cheap. She told me not to get anymore of my list since I added a grey AT belt on my wish list:) I can always have back-up!!!
The material is a really nice wool, not too heavy and not thin which I really like.
The color is a gorgeous dark charcoal. I love all the shades of grey. I wear A LOT of grey with most of my work clothes so this will be a great addition.
I would have never thought to try these pants had it not been for the petite community and great petite bloggers! Major kudos for AlterationsNeeded for trying these first!
I honestly would never think this cuffed pants look would ever look decent on me but I am loving it- what do you think?
Here is a close-up of the necklace and pin:)
These shoes I recently got which now is my new found love! I tried the Cole Haan Carma Air Pumps several months ago but they were too big even in a size 5. But these bad boys are so freaking amazing and definitely worth the money. Got it on sale with 40% off. Not cheap but it fits with no slippage and it’s so comfortable! I may have to get it other colors during the next Cole Haan Sale. I just realized my entire outfit is from LOFT & Ann Taylor minus the shoes!!!
So here is the Petite Scuba Lean Trousers in 00p. The waist has just a 1/4″ gap which is totally do-able!
Here’s the weird thing: the waist laying flat measures 13.5″ which is bigger than the Equestrian Wool pants but the waist on this fits better. Not sure why that but the cut must be totally different.
These sit much lower than I normally wear pants but because of the petite cut, the inseam is only 27.5″ and it works perfectly with heels!
I believe several other petites got the Petite Scuba Seamed pants months ago but I never cared for the seam down the middle of the leg so I thought these may work for me.
The description of these pants say that it sits lower on the waist and is slimmer through the hips and thighs. Normally descriptions are not that accurate but this is totally true! The issue I have with pants are the waist, hips and thighs. My 2 wool Banana Republic pants I tried to tailor are HUGE even in a 00p!
Here I am wearing one of my The Limited ruffle shells in XS. It doesn’t fit perfectly but decent underneath sweaters and blazers. I got a decent deal so I will be keeping them!
The material is nice because you can wear them year round. And the color goes with everything! It has pockets and belt loops and more than likely I would wear this with a belt for a more complete look. I also got the black pair of Scuba Lean Trousers in 00p. Really wanted the camel colored ones but still looking or those. I like these because they are petite friendly and they don’t overwhelm my body like most pants do!
What are your thoughts on both pairs of pants? Keep both?
Honestly, both of them still seem a lil big in the waist, but what's a girl to do? I have the very same problem and the ONLY place I ever buy pants is Bebe. I was at Ann Taylor yesterday and even the 00P skirts were falling off me. I finally found someone who has enough experience with tailoring to make petite items small enough to fit appropriately, but it's still such a pain to try on everything 3-4 times before you can wear it. You look super cute, though! 🙂 🙂
I really like the first pair on you, they look terrific in spite of the waist gap…though I am not sure why I am not as in love with the second pair as I am with the first. In any case, I love how you styled the outfit, I especially like the flower pin and the belt. Thanks for the thorough review and lots of pictures.
Congrats to SPG for winning the necklace! They definitely look way better on you than those BR pants. Although, I do think they're still a tad big. I don't know about you but I cannot stand the waist gap (even though it's just 1/4 of an inch). I tried them both in stores and wasn't in love with either one. If you love them, I'll keep them. Because I know it's really difficult for you to find the ones that fit. I like the way you styled them with different tops and necklaces.
Annie, I am so sorry to say that I am not in love with either pants. If you wear the same top, and swap the pants with the Gap Legging jeans, you'd look even more amazing. (not that you don't already.) The Equestrian cuffed look is ok from the front, but the back is very unflattering. It shortens your leg significantly. The Scuba pants looks much better on you than on me, but still, just ok. (Remember my failed pants review a few months ago?) I am so in love with your pumps though. Both are gorgeous, and you look amazing in them.
I have to admit that honestly I think these pants still look a bit big on you still. I prefer the equestrian one over the second one but it still looks too baggy in the hips and thigh. You paired them wonderfully though and great pin addition to the cardigan!! Those Cole Haan shoes are also totally cute and the grey color is so versatile!
Aww thank you for the giveaway! I'm one of those people who never win anything LOL. I'll email you my info right after this 🙂
I like the cuffed pants from the front, but like the other gals, both pairs still seem a little big? I do really love the fuchsia top paired with the wine cardi – what a gorgeous combo! And you rocking that pin just added "flower pin" to my must try DIY list 🙂
Hmm… I think you styled these pants nicely, but to me they still don't fit perfectly. The first pair looks loose from the back view and the second pair looks loose around the thigh area. I would say return them since they're not perfect unless you're willing to pay for alterations. But if you're going for the looser/casual look, I think they'd work well.
aaw, it must be so tough for you to find pants that fit you @ the waist b/c you're so tiny. so i understand how it must feel to come across pants that 90% of the time fit. Unless you're going to get the waist altered, don't settle for "decent." "Decent" ends up at the back of your closet. Something you'd wear, but in reality, don't really wear. If you have doubts that this might be the case, hold out for the perfect pair of pants that fit you like a glove.
I'd have to agree w/Vicky's comment.
Have you tried the Petite Marisa City Synthetic Leg Lengthening Trouser? I feel they'd look much better on you.
@WhitmerK I have tried Bebe pants before and they are still too big and way too long. So I end up having to tailor the waist and length 🙁 Thanks for your input!! I really appreciate it!
@Elle Thanks Elle! I do like the first pair better too. I didn't realized how big the 2nd pair was until I took pictures. Pictures really do say a lot!

@PetiteLittleGirl I hate the waist gap too! But being that I have no pants…and these are the closest to fitting me w/out me having to shell out a bunch of money for alterations! I think I may keep at least one pair!
Both pants do look a little baggy on you…but it can be so difficult to find pants that fit tight enough! I think if you keep the top half on the tight-side, you should be fine.
Annie, you make me want to buy Petite Scuba Lean Trousers, but I must resist! Both pairs look good on you, but I agree that slimmer pants would look even better on you. Maybe you need something more form-fitting like legging pants, if those even exist. I enjoy your picture-filled posts and like the way you color coordinate. =)

Stick with the skirts! Women are always more attractive in skirts anyway. Just a man's opinion.

I am loving the first pants, they are so chic and unconventional and I don't think I can wear them but I am jelly of those who can!
Also jelly of some one's fantastic tan!
=)
xox
I think both are big on the wait, but it's because you have such a tiny waist! Heheh! Otherwise, you look amazing as always! 🙂

I may try to shrink the first pair for a tiny bit…I just want at least one pair to wear! LOL
