Lookbook: H & M Camel Skirt and My New Fav Ruffly Blouse

At last, I was able to hunt down this H & M camel skirt after the first one, the zipper was broken! I first saw this on FastFoodAndFastFashion and had to have it. And recently, I found this super cute cream and sheer ruffly blouse at H & M too! It’s so pretty and feminine. I couldn’t decide which skirt went better so I am including both! And yes my hair is in a side ponytail!

I rarely wear my hair up only because I am too lazy to do anything so a ponytail is a stretch for me. I usually just curl quickly the ends and I’m out the door. I think I have only worn my hair in one other post before this one.

Are you guys getting sick of my smiling at the camera? LOL I wish I had that ability to have a no smile/sexy pose but NOPE- don’t have it in me:)

I am totally trying to pose my LV Alma handbag! It’s still in brand new condition because I baby it every time I use it.
Most blouse’s are not able to be tucked in without it being bunchy or leaving extra material in the back and sides. This one tucks in beautifully! I cannot stand when I try to tuck in a shirt and it’s all bulky and looks weird.
This blouse fits perfectly! See where it’s tucked in? No baggy material unlike other blouses…love it!
Here I am trying to tighten my ponytail…not exactly sure why I am including this picture but oh well- at least I am not posing like I normally do..hahahah!
I think this skirt is a tad too long for my short legs- your thoughts? I’m thinking I may take it up about 1.5-2″ right above the knee which is where my ideal skirt length is.
Warning about this shirt- it looks like a grandma’s shirt at first glance on the hanger. 8 months ago, I would have never even thought to buy or wear this type of top but once I put it on, and tucked it in- LOVED it!
The sort of puffy 3/4 sleeve is soooooo adorable and totally ME!
I love the fact that this blouse buttons all the way down so you don’t have to get make-up on the collar every time you put it over your head- I hate when that happens- especially if it’s the last size in that style and someone tried it on before you- UGH!
The waist and hips fit really nicely on this skirt- I highly recommend it to any petites my size! And it has front pockets too! And love the faux leather belt…hope it doesn’t break too soon!
Here is a close-up of the top so you can see the detailing. It’s sheer so I had to wear a nude bra and a nude cami underneath.
This is also a new H & M pencil skirt I just got. It’s actually a pinstripe skirt but you can’t tell from the pictures. Ironically, this skirt fits way better than all my other H & M pencil skirts and boy do I have a lot of them!
Can you see the tiny faux patent leather belt? Super cute and I like that there are belt loops so your belt stays in one place.
Here are my new Aldo black pumps (still available and on sale here) I got on sale during my Aldo pump binge. Still waiting for my gray ones and a newer one of the brown pumps that were slightly used (floor model).
Even though this is the same top, with a different color skirt and nylons, totally changes the look huh?
I like both looks, what do you think? I think this may be my new fav blouse….it goes with everything! I can even throw a cardigan or blazer over it for a different look too! It’s a brand new top (front of store) so go and find it!

  3. I like both skirts and the way you paired them with the blouse and shoes, but I agree with PLG that the camel skirt is too long for you. You should have it hemmed to the length of the black one.
    Regarding the blouse: I love the blouse in general, but I think you should try going up a size or even two. You have a large chest, so you should buy tops that fit your chest well, even if that means you need to have the waist taken in a bit. Don't get me wrong here. You have a great body, and I can imagine that its hard to find tops that fit a tiny waist and large chest, but you should wear a size that accommodates the widest part of your body, not the other way around.
    Do you see the wrinkles near your armpits? I think that's a sign that the blouse is too tight around the chest and pulling. There is also some pulling near the buttons. Generally, I find that ruffle blouses should be worn less fitted so that the ruffles drape nicely. I don't know how the H&M blouse is supposed to look like, but I find the ruffles look flat, more like a huge bib. I guess if you went up a size or two it would look better.

  5. I like both skirts on you (and the blouse is darling as well) but would probably hem the camel skirt a bit. I wear mine really high up on my waist because I am bigger than you so I think that's why it's not nearly as long on me (but I still need to hem mine a little bit too, the skirt is just a touch out of the petite range). But both skirts look incredible on you, I might have to go look for the same blouse, it looks so cute on you! 🙂

  6. @Anonymous Thanks for your comments! Although I have to disagree with you regarding the blouse and me sizing up a size or even two. I may have a larger chest but the circumference of my chest meausures only 31" so if I size up one size or two- the shoulders and sleeves and everything will be unproportional. The only reason why you see that slight wrinkles near my armpits is because I am posing with my arms on my hips- which is not what I normally do in real life. And I'm not sure where you are seeing the chest pulling because that's not the case. Maybe it's the pictures or whatnot but there is actually no chest pulling around the buttons. It could be my positioning but me standing normal, there is no pulling at all. I do have some button up shirts from Banana Republic that have the pulling near the buttons so I know exactly what you are referring to.

    And I did try on a size larger in-store and it was gigantic on me- and did NOT look right. This feels and fits perfectly in my opinion!

  17. i love both of these skirts!! i agree that the camel one is a bit long, but it will be perfect after minor alterations to hem it up a bit.

    and i love the ruffly blouse!! i personally don't think it's too small as it fits your shoulders perfectly. and the pulling is most likely due to the posing. the fabric and the design are absolutely gorgeous and it looks great tucked into the skirts!

  18. I like both skirts and top on you. Camel one is a bit long but fixable. You can always find a black one anywhere ( is it lined?) so I'd go for the camel. I tried that in the store but I must have bigger hips than you because it sunk in around the crotch area giving me a tummy bump on sideview.

I think the length is not bad but maybe higher heels would look better, but if you prefer to wear it with your awesome Aldo pumps then I agree on trimming the length.
