H & M Lace Skirt and Ann Taylor (factory) Chiffon Trimmed Cardigan

As we can all see, lace is everywhere. I couldn’t help but take advantage of the 20% off at H & M when they launched their app for the Android. Lucky for  iPhone users, it even applied to us too!

I can’t rave about this fuchsia Ann Taylor factory cardigan. I love it so much that I have it lilac and beige. It fits PERFECTLY and guess what? I have an extra fuchsia in XXSP up for grabs! First one to comment gets it for $25 plus exact ship. It’s a blend of 70% silk and 30% cotton with a pretty chiffon trim. Perfect for tucking in and great length to wear open. The material is so soft and ideal for Spring and Summer.

This H & M skirt is quite lovely. This is more of a conservative lace skirt which I prefer so I can wear to to work.  I actually fell in love with the dress version a long time ago and tweeted about how sad I was that they didn’t have my size. So when I saw the skirt hanging there just waiting for me to bring it home, my knees buckled as I ran quickly to the cash register.

The waist is a bit big. I find myself blowing out my stomach as big as possible to make it fit properly. I do however love that it’s a straight pencil skirt and the length is work appropriate.
And the best part is, it’s DOUBLE lined! Woo hoo! I can’t stand thin lining, especially on lace where it’s semi see-thru.

I have  love and hate relationship to the black waist band. I don’t like the fact that it limits me wearing it with browns unless I wear a shirt long enough to cover it. I usually tuck everything in so I guess I will probably stick to wearing it with black pumps.

Besides the slightly big waist, the fit is very nice and comfortable all the way through. If you are substantially smaller than me, this may not work. But if you are similar in size or even a bit larger, I would def recommend this! At $34.95 PLUS 20% off for a grand total of $27.96, I am happy. No alterations necessary so that definitely a bonus!

As you all know, Ann Taylor and LOFT along with the outlets is having a great sale. I had several items in my cart the night before the big sale and of course by the time I woke up, all my sizes were gone:( Luckily I called around and ordered this shirt , a dress, belts and a few other goodies! I can’t wait to get my J.Crew belts in all 4 colors that I was able to hunt down for only $7, all thanks to Vicky!!:)

  1. I'm ridiculously tired and warm because I just got out of the shower so this comment is going to be really short: I like this skirt a LOT more than the AT Factory one, which looks so granny to me. Really *really* wish I had an H&M ^.^

  2. This skirt is so lovely on you and I wish my h&m was still open so I could go buy it (they just closed last Sun to open the new big store in Aug). What a great deal on it and I like it more than the AT one! And great cardi too!!

  3. The colors on the lace skirt is really romantic! Double lining is a definite thumbs up, the lace skirt that I have I need to wear something underneath. I think the thick black band can also bring it to a casual outfit.

  4. 7$ belts?!?! Oh I am in such a great need for retail therapy too!!

Love how you paired your outfit, but I think you could wear your skirt with a pair of blue pumps on the bottom too (not just restricted to black)! Ooh! And then a mustard yellow cardi or something like that 🙂

  5. I wanted to purchase that lace skirt when I saw it! The price (in Canadian dollars) kinda threw me off. haha It's gorgeous on you and I have no problem with the black waistband! I love the contrast.

  6. You look lovely! What a beautiful outfit. I think the black wasitline adds some waist definition, which is always a good thing.

  7. The skirt's lining is absolutely adorable. Polka dots!? I actually like the black pumps pairing because of the black waist band. You look great as always, Annie!

  8. I really like the skirt because it's so feminine and fits you very well. I think the black band is meh but overall, a really nice skirt!

  9. Just came back from the Ann Taylor factory store and scored on the same fuchsia sweater plus a beige one. I love the way u put it all together. Also scored on 3 skinny belts in grey, snakeskin and porcini. Thanks for all the ideas!

  10. LOVE LOVE LOVE that skirt! 🙂 YOU find the cutest stuff!

p.s. heard you got the georgette petal shell from AT Factory too, please do some outfit pics please! I am out of ideas for how to wear mine

  11. Ahh! I got that skirt and dress with that same fabric. I loved so much I had to get both! I was wondering if the skirt would be work appropriate and it is the way you wear it! Thank you!!

  12. I just bought the same skirt a few weeks ago although no discounts for the H & M's here in Belgium. 🙁 I too have a love/hate relationship with the black waistband. Love how the skirt looks with the v-neck button up sweater!
