I have had these cardigans for a couple weeks now but haven’t had the time to properly do a thorough review. If anyone is looking for petite friendly long cardigans that is similar in length and size to the famous LOFT long cardigans, these two Banana Republic variations may be a good choice for you.
Likes:
-length is perfect and the drop of the v-neck is perfect for tucking in.
-can be worn all three ways (see pics above)
Dislikes:
-arms are slightly baggy and the width of the cardigan is a bit wide
– prefer slightly more fitted look (doable but in person, you can see the difference)
-no pockets
-material is decent but not great
(sorry didn’t take a photo of it tucked in)
Likes:
-Very similar to the LOFT long cardigan
-Length is perfect and overall fit is good
-XSP is smaller than the XXSP in the whipstitch
-Material is super nice and soft and feels good on skin
Dislikes:
-Color choices could be better and no extra buttons
Whipstitch vs. Full Needle measurements (whipstitch is larger and wider)
View of the back of both.
Verdict:
Returned all the whipstitch cardigans and kept both the full needle. I loved the yellow whipstitch but it still was a bit wide for my taste. If you are smaller than me, consider getting the XXSP in the full needle. They didn’t have these in-store so that explains why I didn’t get any in these sizes. Both styles are on sale right now!
Which do you like better?

what skirt are you wearing? It looks amazing!
@Anonymous Hi there! The camel skirt if this is the one you are referring to is from H & M but the length was tailored. The first pic, the black one is from Theory (part of full skirt suit), and the tweed one is also from Theory (got recently for $30)…hope this helps! 😀
You're really amazing and smart.
Xoxo
Yes, thanks! The camel one looks very high-quality for H&M.
I've been searching for skirts that look spring/summery, but not linen and wrinkly (just tried the LOFT one, cotton-linen blend but the light color looked so obviously wrinkly that I returned it) and can be more versatile throughout the year – any material or brand suggestions?
@Leslie Awe..Leslie- thank you, you are so sweet!:D
@Anonymous Hi again:) The H & M camel one is surprisingly quite nice for "HM" quality…it's fully lined and it was worth spending another $20 on the hem..my fave brands for skirts are Theory and H & M. Quite a price difference too. If you are looking for really high quality…I say go with Theory. If you are looking for affordable and decent quality, try H & M. I have tons of their skirts and are quite happy with them. Most of their pencil skirts are WAY too long but are cheap enough where you can tailor them PLLUS they fit perfectly in the waist and hips (most). 😀
I personally like the full needle ones as well.
And HandM needs to get a store in Ottawa. ugh.
@Really Petite
Great feedback thanks!!
Annie,
You look amazing in cardigans! I think I have given up on cardigans altogether because they always look so frumpy and matronly on me :'(
The 15.5 width doesn't look big because you wore it so well but I totally agree that going with a smaller sized cardigan is ideal. Especially since it is knit it can stretch out!
you're so cute annie! you could be a model in their catalog 🙂

lovely!
I seriously can't tell the difference between the cardigans in the photos, but I've seen them in store and I know what you mean. The full needle ones look better IRL. But lately, I'm on cardigan overload and I don't think I'll be wearing them as much anymore. LOL. =)
Nice,
Greetings from Amsterdam!!
heck out my new make up blog:)
Love,

Obviously, the full needle is a better fit for you. I've seen the whipstitch cardigans in store and wasn't in love with them. Thanks for the review. Have a great weekend.
Definitely like the full needle on you better but wish they had it in that Garden Cream color bc that is just so pretty on you! It has an almost pastel yellow color from the pics which is so perfect for the season!
You look so cute. I esp like the first outfit with the yellow cardigan.
I love the pretty color of these cardigans and do agree that the full needle style fits you better. Beautiful outfits!
The full needle looks very good and fits very well on you!
Thanks for the demo Annie. I was in desperate need of cardi's after my shell haul at the ann taylor factory store, and this really helped me make my decisions. Esp since today BR is having their 30% off Tax Break Promo code. (picked up one in cream, and the ruffle edged cardi in blue) Love this site, we have similar body styles and it's so easy for me to just copy you! (if that's ok…)
Regardless of which way you wear those cardigans, they really flatter your frame! The vibrant pink and the grey caridgans are especially pretty.
I love wearing whipstitch for a cool, casual vibe.

I’m amazed, I have to admit. Seldom do I come across
a blog that’s equally educative and amusing, and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail

I’m very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for
something relating to this.
I read this article completely about the difference of
hottest and earlier technologies, it’s remarkable article.
