This month’s Petite Fashion Challenge is being hosted by none other than Jessy from The Little Dust Princess! Here is the challenge:
“A little black dress (LBD) is essential in every woman’s wardrobe. It’s always great for back-up if you run out of outfit ideas for a night out. Adding a pop of colour to your LBD will change up its look and make your dress a little less boring.
For this challenge, add a pop of colour (or two) to your little black dress to change up the look. You could add anything from an accessory to a blazer, or even nail polish!”

Dress: H & M sheath dress- size 2 (similar here)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Simple 100’s– size 5 (buy here)
I thought this challenge was going to be easy for me but turns out- not so easy! I had such a tough time with it and have no idea why!
1. Added a statement necklace
Necklace: Amrita Singh Nello in coral – (buy here)
2. Added a belt
3. Add a lace vest
4. Add a chambray shirt
None of these outfits are great but I got tired of re-taking pictures so this is what I have! This has been a
I feel the same way. I thought it was going to be an easy challenge but it wasn't 🙂 You did great though! I love your necklace. I got mine today and I loveeee them too.
Great job! I love how you showed several looks!
Yay, same necklace, Annie!!! You look gorgeous!
wasn't an easy challenge for me either, I don't have a LBD!
love the last look! dressed down, but still really put together. 🙂

Your Amrita Singh necklace is gorgeous!
You did great with all the looks!
Love the casualness with the chambray shirt knotted! I will be trying that in the future 🙂
I love your statement necklace with the dress.
i agree that this was definitely a difficult challenge! i do love seeing all the AS necklaces though and think you did great!
cute & little
Wow love the step by steps! You did a great job Annie!! 🙂
Thanks for doing it step-by-step – great idea! Really breaks it down and makes it easier to emulate for ppl like me 🙂 You look beautiful as always!
Loving the chambray "villain" in the last photo. Jenna Lyons would be proud! Very pretty! xoxo Kiki
I am loving this challenge Something totally doable as everyone has that no fail black dress…PS I have not received the belts 🙁
Annie I had the same struggles! I tend to prefer a simple black dress by itself and I stink at adding color! I think you did a great job though 🙂 Looking forward to next month!
My favorite is the chambray ensemble! You have on so many versatile pieces!
Coral accents go PERFECTLY with LBD, so much better than I pictured. Well executed and I especially love the look with the lace vest!
And I agree that this challenge was a lot harder than meets the eye. I thought it would be a cakewalk but I struggled a lot more than I thought I would and ended up just not doing much. 🙂
These are great idea. I have a tropical wool black dress from Ann Taylor and I haven't worn it haha. The chambray shirt is sooo cute with it.
I wish I can get my hands on that Chambray shirt… You did a great job here. I love the final picture.
Love it with the lace vest
Perfacto!!!

Love the last look, way to dress down the LBD! I found this challenge to be particularly difficult as well, but I guess that's why it's called a "challenge." You still look great in all the looks. =)
Wow the ways you style them are brilliant from classy to casual. I don't know which one is my most favorite, #4 is so adorable.
I love the casual appeal of all of these outfits…
I wish I had joined this. I regret it now.

Mae Lu @ thereafterish.!
Chambray > lace vest.
You're so lucky you found so many of these whipsnake belts. I really wanted this coral color and the purple.
This challenge was a great reason to show off your AS jewelry. I'm still not jumping on the bandwagon, but I like seeing it on all the petites so far.
I love the look with the vest, really creative. Good look with the skinny belt as well! I might even try that out one day
Oh, wow! I never thought of adding a chambray skirt to an LBD. I think it's perfect! Great dressed-down version.
I like the different ways you styled this! I think my fave is with the necklace and belt. The dress is so great, a little of this and that is just right. I need to check out those statement necklaces!

omg the dress looks good on you even without the accessories/layers! Every photo there looks good. You pull off the LBD very well.
Thank you for participating! : )
The red necklace makes the outfit so dainty! 🙂
i think you did an awesome job annie, i love that coral necklace 🙂
