Weekend Casual Chic

Even on the weekends, I am not a very casual type of girl. Maybe that’s because I am so used to dressing up for work that it’s just natural for me to want to dress up on the weekends. Plus I hate feeling like a slob – even on my off days:)

I’m surprised this chambray shirt and skirt hasn’t shredded to pieces since I apparently seem to wear this quite often. Is anyone guilty of this? I find something I love and then wear it to shreds. For some reason, I keep grabbing for the same darn articles of clothing…creature of habit perhaps?

Since I haven’t bought any clothes all month (who’s proud of me?), I’m forced to work with what I’ve got. So here’s a casual chic outfit I put together. The zipper on this BB Dakota Groton skirt was so poorly constructed that I was forced to have my tailor put in a new zipper! So now I can finally wear it again.

I haven’t worn this blazer since last Summer only because it’s slightly too big for me but it’s nice to wear as a jacket over an outfit like this. I settled last year because they ran out of the 00P. If you are looking for a navy blue blazer, this one is a good option for you.

I was naughty this morning and bought 2 more pairs of sandals! I don’t know what possessed me but I bought these mid-heel gladiator sandals . I’ve been looking for some summer casual sandals that I can wear on the weekends and figured these should do the job- plus I can beat on them. I got both brown and light brown to compare. There are still some size 5’s  left and they are on major clearance so hurry! And you can get 15% off with code: GLAMOUR thru Aldo.com plus free shipping with $100+.

Here’s the same outfit but with my crochet skirt:)

How do you dress on the weekends?

  1. This looks awesome….I give you mad credit for looking this put together on weekends! πŸ™‚

  2. ooh i like the dress! you're always so stylish haha. i only seem to want to dress up on mondays and fridays and when i'm going out on the weekends. the true life of the fashion blogger, eh?

and yes, aldo shoes hurt like crap. they're so chic but painful!

  3. You look like this on the weekends :)? I don't dress up at all on my off days. I live in jeans and tees on my weekends. The first pairing is my favorite. Thanks for sharing, Annie!

  4. Haha, I'm on my pjs on weekends πŸ™‚ This outfit is so pretty and that chambray shirt is so versatile. I wouldn't even think it would work with those skirts, but it does and looks really good.

  5. I really like both these pairings…still bummed I didn't buy the bb dakota skirt when it was cold enough to wear (now I can't justify it!). Good job at not shopping Annie, you are my hero! πŸ™‚

  6. You always look amazingly chic! What a great weekend look. I don't think there is such a thing as being overdressed! It just means you'll look the best and there's nothing wrong with that! πŸ™‚

I would love to see a closet tour in the future!

  7. I love the BB dakota skirt and the lace crochet skirt! It's hard picking a favorite – both versions of the outfit look great on you!

  8. Oh man, I'm a COMPLETE slob on weekends. Tshirt and sweatpants please πŸ™‚ I think chambray goes well with both skirts (and pretty much everything!) but do prefer the tweed I think.

  9. I totally cannot imagine you looking like a slob!! I agree with Cee..I think the shirt looks just slightly better with the tweed skirt more than the lace. I can't wait to see your new sandals!

  10. You always look fabulous! I like the chambray more with the tweed skirt than with the lace. In the weekend I usually dress down as I have to chase around my 2 young sons πŸ™‚
And like I said in Facebook, you deserve those sandals (especially after shop-fasting for a month!)!!

  11. I like how you layering the two tops. I wish I could dress up and look polished like you on weekends. My go-to weekend outfits are capri and casual top.

  12. Good for you, for not wanting to look like a slob! You look great, high-waisted skirts with belts always look fabulous, even when dressed down for the weekends.
One thing I can't rock casually is a pair of heels- my feet hate heels. πŸ™ Is it true it just takes getting used to? Or will I forever be awkwardly shuffling around in them?

  13. Nothing wrong with reaching for the same pieces – cost per wear, right? I aim to dress up but I guess you have to practice dressing down??? LOL!

  14. ooh i love that skirt! so pretty…and unfortunately, i am one of those people who like to be lazy on the weekends in sweatpants..unless im going somewhere πŸ˜›

  15. Oooh I love both outfits but the crochet skirt really pops with the blues! You always look beautifully put together and the cameo necklace is such a nice touch!

Good job on sticking to your shopping ban this month! If I recall correctly, you're allowed to shop again this holiday weekend?
