Review: Ann Taylor and LOFT Haul

Pros: The price is very attractive- only $36 after discounts. It’s different than any other skirt I own. See on Jean.  See the dress version on Vicky – looks and fits her amazing.
Cons: Not loving the stretchy material. The waist is slighty too big and the length will also need to come up.
Verdict: Un-decided
Pros: Runs super small! More like a 4.5! I reordered from last time. See my review. Super comforrtable and price was great.
Cons: Not sure if I will get a lot of wear out of these.
Verdict: Un-decided

Pros: I don’t have any dark brown (marigold) pencil skirts and the color is great for Fall. The price was only $49 after discounts…not sure if it’s worth alterations.
Cons: The waist is huge and the length will need to be taken up and the sides slimmed. The back has a hidden pleat with buttons- not sure what that’s all about (sorry no pic). I don’t love it enough to spend additional money tailoring it.
Verdict: Return

Pros: These run a tiny bit smaller than the other AT pumps which is great news for someone with a 4.5 or a small size 5 foot. It matches my leopard haircalf belt which I have never regretted buying matching Ann Taylor belts and pumps:) The price was great after all coupons.
Cons: I’m not 100% sold on this calf hair and hope there won’t be spots that will bald in the future.
Verdict: Keeping!

Pros: The color is quite unique- it’s called moosewood. It’s a cross between a dark plum and brown. The fit and length is perfect and works even when tucked in. See it on Ping in green.
Cons: Love the fit but unfortuately still a bit too spendy for me at $45 and I have a gazillion cardigans.
Verdict: Return

LOFT double layer trimmed cardigan in olive melange – XXSP
Pros: Similar to last year’s long cardigan version. Fit is perfect. The color is what I was hoping for.
Cons: Not loving the double layered trim when fully button and tucked in.
Verdict: Un-decided (possibly keeping?)

  1. i love the last picture with the cardigan! the green color is perfect for fall. i do understand that it's a bit pricey for a cardi though and i'd probably return it and wait for a better deal. and those leopard pumps look great on you!

    cute & little

  2. I picked up a LOT of stuff…I placed like three orders over the last two days (I've been so sooooo bad)

I actually really like everything you picked up…so I won't enable you. :p

  3. Hi Annie! I don't know what it is about AT tropical wool pencil skirts, but I have the same problem! The length was definitely too long and the waist and hip area was a little baggy. Plus, the odd pleat in the back. My grandmother altered mine, but I'm not sure if it's worth paying to alter it when you could buy a better fitting one off the rack somewhere else. πŸ™‚ Also, I love both the cardigans… they colors are absolutely perfect for Fall! Keep both!!

  4. Hi I love your blog! I just wanted to address your calf hair concern. I have had a pair of leopard calf hair shoes from Nordstrom's for about three years now and there are no bald spots. So, don't worry!

  5. I love your blog, but I have to ask, what's the deal with you and Jean from extrapetite.com? Your blogs are almost exactly the same and you both wear the same clothes. Are you two related in some way? Do you follow each other blogs? I really enjoy both of your blogs but I've noticed that they're nearly identical. In one of her posts (seen here: http://www.extrapetite.com/2011/08/ann-taylor-review-petite-crossing-paths.html#more) she wore the blue ruffled top and printed skirt that you're wearing in this post. As I said, I like both blogs, I'm just wondering what the deal is.

  6. Oh Elle..can't wait to see what you get!!!! And yes thanks for not enabling me..I've been so good about not going crazy this time around! πŸ™‚

  7. I have this issue with ALL AT skirts w/the exception of 1 but even that one has some problems..LOL

Thanks for the advice- def holding out for a better fitting skirt πŸ™‚
