I had really high hopes for this skirt because the length seemed perfect. Unfortunately, it’s too big. From the pictures below, it doesn’t seem to bad but it’s being held up by my belt.

Measurements:
Waist laying flat = 13″ (1″ too big for me)
Hips =  16.5″ (16″ is ideal for me)
Total length = 17.25″ (perfect length for someone my height)

I love my cotton ruffle 3/4 sleeve tee. See it on Sydney in wild olive. It’s so comfortable and you can dress it up or down. I couldn’t resist and bought both colors:)

The material is 70% wool 25% nylon, 5% other fibers. I was hoping for it to be a thicker material but it’s very thin. I’m looking for a thicker wool camel pencil skirt. The color is a bit lighter than I wanted.  I want a true camel color.  I lucked out and found a vintage wool and cashmere skirt (made in Italy) for only $22 w/free ship on Ebay. The waist is tiny but the sides need to be slimmed. I am sending it home to my Mom in the Midwest to tailor for me until I can get my sewing machine up and running. Poor mom…LOL

And don’t forget Ann Taylor’s 40% off plus stackable 30% off code HERE! Have a great weekend!!! I also have an extra navy H & M swing jacket in size 2 if anyone is interested (found it just yesterday)! Please email me if you want it:) *SOLD*

  1. @Amber Oh no! They were avail a few days ago when I wrote the post…maybe they sold out due to the sale? You can always click on the link and call and give them the style # and do a style finder πŸ™‚

  2. I tried that skirt on just yesterday, and it was far too big at the waist for me, too. It does suck because the length was ideal, I wouldn't have even needed to hem it!

On another note, I love the outfit – it has a nautical feel to it that's just very sophisticated.

  3. Aww, too bad that the skirt was too big but glad you found another one on Ebay! Will you be taking sewing lessons for your new sewing machine or learning by yourself?

Love the scarf with the ensemble here!

  4. I love the color combination of this outfit! The color of the skirt is so pretty. Perfect for the fall season. I also have been drooling over your H&M clutch/crossbody bag but when I went to my local store there were none left. I did however find a nice envelope style clutch so everything worked out well. Thanks for the inspiration and outfit post!
