I fell in love with this skirt when I first saw it. This is from their “Trend” collection which is a bit pricer and higher quality. Only select H & M stores carry this so please make sure to call and ask first.  It runs extra tiny which is fantastic for petites! You may need to size up from your regular H & M sizes.
Measurements:
Waist laying flat = 11.5″
Full length of skirt = 16.5″
Material:
50% wool and 50% viscose
Fully Lined
Care:
Dry Clean Only

At first I thought it was a tweed skirt and then looked on H & M’s website and the matching jacket said boucle yarn. In case you are interested in the differences between boucle vs. tweed (source):
Boucle is a knit or woven fabric with small curls or loops that create a nubby surface. The fabric has a looped, knotted surface and is often used in sweater looks, vests and coats. Tweed is a medium to heavy weight, fluffy, woolen, twill weave fabric containing colored slubbed yarns. Common end-uses include coats and suits.

I wish there would have been a size 2 in the matching jacket for me to try on but it was already gone:( The quality is really nice and thick and love the cute little side slit. The color is called red melange and has gray mixed into the fabric, super pretty. I have a feeling this skirt will be loved and worn frequently. It’s very different than all my other skirts I have now.

Anyone else have this skirt?

  1. That's a really nice skirt, I don't venture into H&M that much but the color is pretty and the whole thing looks really high quality – please post if you get the matching jacket!

  2. There's tons of the matching jacket in the store by me, but I'm not a fan of how it actually looks with the skirt – it's an overload of the "boucle" (thanks for the definition, btw)! They would work well as separates though!

I love how you styled the skirt – the mustard purse really provides a nice color contrast.

  3. I have a matching skirt & jacket set from H&M too! The posts should be up by next week. hehe Love them. : ) You look great in that burgundy colour.

  4. Classic loveliness by you here. Ever the fashionable goddess yet again. This skirt is very lovely to compliment the rest of your outfit. And while the skirt is lovely, I also love this blouse. I'm a sucker for ruffles, and this ruffled blouse is a thing of beauty. You've proven once again to be one of the most beautiful women in the world, let alone in blogging and let alone among petites. Great post, Annie!

  6. My local store doesn't carry "Trend" line so I didn't see this skirt in store. I do like the color though (perfect for Fall). I agree with JJ, a whole set probably is a bit too much. I would wearing them separately. Great find!

  7. Lovely, Annie! The skirt looks so cute on you! The measurement looks scary tiny! I would need a sz 6. hehe. That jcrew coat looks so nice on you. I still can't get over how stupid it looked on me when I tried it on. πŸ™‚

  8. I liked the familiar-yet-unusual colours of this outfit a lot. And I see you're wearing H&M tights. I've been meaning to stock up on some new tights for the fall season – would you recommend these?

  9. I tried this skirt on in a size 2 and it comes way closer to my knees than it does on you? Did you have it altered or shortened? I am also 5 feet tall, so I don't know what is going on. Maybe it is sittig lower on my hips…? It fits you like a glove. I wish I could pull it off…so, so pretty.

  10. All the components in this ensemble look so lovely on you! Is it getting chilly there? I rarely see you in tights πŸ™‚

Also, thanks for the boucle vs. tweed comparison, I get so confused on that!

  11. Thanks JJ! I agree it def would be overload with both pieces and the jacket is not a classic cut so prob will go out of style hence the "TREND" line…LOL

  12. Thanks Vicky! The skirt def runs tiny and after a full meal- I probably won't be able to breathe..LOL

Love my J.Crew coat- remember the fiasco and what I put you thru? I don't know how it could have looked stupid on you….

  13. These tights are from last season and I bought back up pairs because I loved them THAT much! Not sure if they are still avail this year but I love them- made in Italy- and way better than nylons πŸ™‚

  14. Hi Amanda! Really? No alterations- straight off the rack! I have it sitting right where my bellybutton is- maybe a scunch higher but it's a mini on me…and I'm the same height. Strange huh?

  15. Thanks SPG! It is FINALLY chilly – 48 degrees in CA is like below 0 elsewhere…LOL You'll be seeing me in tights all thru winter….:D

I still am confused about the boucle vs. tweed definitions….even after looking it up…hehehe

  16. This outfit is just gorgeous!! LOVE the pleats in the top! And the skirt is such a pretty color. I was looking at your pics thinking "Man I wish there was a closer H&M! The maroon-ish color of the skirt would be perfect for me since my school's colors are maroon and gold πŸ˜‰
