Top: Loft (super old) – size XXSP
Pants: Banana Republic – size 00P (buy here)

I am so excited to share with you ladies some pants that fit off the rack! Yes I said it, off the rack with no alterations! Thank you Karri for suggesting these pants. I have to admit, I was very skeptical when I first heard that the waist and hem fit perfectly with no tailoring. Based on my past experiences with Banana Republic pants, I literally have sworn off all pants. Even though I prefer skirts and dresses, it’s certainly nice to change it up once in awhile. I’ve always wanted a pair of dress trousers that fit nicely without having to spend a grip taking in the waist and hem but never thought it would be possible.

Waist laying flat = 12.5″ (measuring flat across)
Hips = 15″ (measuring flat across)

Care:
Dry clean only
Details:

~straight silhouette
~front slash pockets

Likes: Um…everything? I feel so weird saying this about a pair of pants! The waist fits nicely with only about 1/4″ gap but totally not noticable. The hips fit and hug you like they should and is slim through-out the thighs. The inseam works great with heels and I like my trousers at a 30″ inseam. It helps elongate your legs. The butt fits really nicely which is a huge requirement for me to love a pair of pants. These hug your tush without them being saggy or too tight. And you can wear normal panties with them without making your butt look all weird. The material is nice and soft- perfect for Fall/Winter.
Dislikes: If I had anything to complain about, it would be the price. It’s uber expensive. The gray pinstripe is $10 more than the grey melange. I’m not sure why that is because they are the exact same pants. I got both pairs for around $66-$70 bucks on sale. Right now, get 25% off with code: BRGIFT (thanks for reminding me Janice). I may wait for a better sale and then re-buy them back or possibly keep them since I don’t have to pay for alterations: ) I am definitely getting the black pair too!
Verdict: LOVE LOVE LOVE! Highly recommend! I can’t wait to style these!

  1. The great thing about BR is the sales and really good basics do go on sale, unlike other stores. The quality for the price is worth it, every BR piece I've bought has last forever. In this case, you get what you pay for.

  2. wow I Love the second outfit 🙂 looks great!! Those trousers are so feminine

  3. The fit is great! Though, IMO, the stripe pattern looks a bit dated but I really like the light grey. You should definitely go for the black! Now I wonder how the regular fits since I can't do the petite inseam, but it doesn't come in 00? Boo. =(

  4. wow, these pants really do fit you perfectly in every way!! and although they're a little pricey, they're worth it as you're saving the alterations money! can't wait to see how you style them!

    cute & little

  5. just picked up a pair. thanks for the advice! I must wear pants to work daily (dentist's need to sit with their legs open), and it's nice to hear about a great fitting pair, and in flannel for the winter months! Great deal with the 25% off with BRGIFT code.

  6. I like the new blog header!

I like the color of the pants, but if you look at the pictures you took, the fit is somewhat off near the crotch area which is not very flattering where there are a bunch of creases. It might just be the way you are standing, however.

  7. Awe thank you!

It's definitely the way I am standing/posing…LOL But IRL- they don't look like that…hopefully when I style them, they will look different 🙂 Was in a rush before work to snap these off..LOL

  8. Those fit great!! Love the pinstripes!

I have such a difficult time finding trousers! Usually oop is too short to wear with heels, but a oo is too long. I usually end up buying capris for in-between weather and just wear tights all winter!

  9. I like these and need some real dress pants (waistband, belt loops, etc.) so I'll check these out at BR 🙂

  10. Those pants seem to fit you perfectly in every way! I think I've tried them on last year but they were a bit short for my height. It's refreshing to see you in pants. I might have to give them another try the next time I am at the mall. Thanks for the review, Annie!

  11. LOVE LOVE LOVE the pants! You look great in pants, you should wear more! 🙂 But of course fit can be frustrating when you're a petite. I haven't shopped at BR in years but it's so hard to find LINED pants less than $100, so I went to BR and fell in love with the Logan Straight Leg pants and purchased them. They are a great fit!

  12. I like the pants on you from the front and side views. The back for some reason looks a little too high-waisted. I think perhaps it's because you tucked your shirt in? I think a blazer will "hide" that a bit. Great find, Annie!

  13. Annie, I ADORE these pants. Thank you for posting them! I actually bought them myself a few days before your review popped up and I was hoping to see one of the petite bloggers do a review on these pants. They fit perfect!

Incidentally, can you share how you got them both on sale for $66-$70? I bought full price in store, then saw the 25% off online so I re-ordered a pair online and will return the full price ones I bought. I am waiting for a sale so I can buy them in every color. I'm in So Cal, so if you could tell me which store you go to and get them on sale, I would love to go there too! Thanks!

  15. Thanks Cher! Really you don't like the pinstripe? LOL Yeah I really want the black….hoping for another good sale:) It doesn't come in regular? I thought it did!!! WTH!

  16. I thought I replied on Monday but good thing I double checked! LOL

I got these at 30% off plus an additional 10% back from ebates 🙂 I purchased them online too- just FYI 🙂 I so want the black ones!

  17. The rise is 8" and it actually not high waisted at all…I think maybe because I tucked in my shirt. It's super comfortable compared to my LOFT pants that are low rise and a bit too low for my taste…:)

  18. Hello Really Petite,

I was wondering about your Louboutins. I really want a pair badly but I am a terrible heels type of person. I know Louboutins make pumps with a lower heel height, but do they hurt your feet after a while? How is the padding on the soles?

  19. Good find for no alterations! I wore pants to work this week and felt uncomfortable all day. I always get creases along the crotch. Why is that? The only time I don't get that is if I wear super super roomy pants which isn't flattering on the back view.

  20. Wow Annie you found some winners there! Can't believe you don't have to hem, which means these would be too short on me LOL! I tried a pair of pants on a BR not too long ago and they fit well but were too short to wear with heels, wonder if they were the same as one of these!
